Fresh cherry pie, freshly baked? With a "cheffy" drizzle of cream on the plate so that the pasty stays crispy...

Seasonal though

I noticed sprouts are on the shelves now, very nice halved, in a puff pastry pie, with a touch of Parmesan, and served with mango chutney... Saaah! No accounting for taste

No, of course not If I ate the sprouts alone, they'd make me take a week off work

Quite so, I always feel guilty replying to food threads when he's likely to be "training". Maybe he can get a satellite link to the Brisky Food Forum...

Mmmmm, piiiiiie.

Like a good chicken & mushroom with chips from the chippie.

Steak and ale pie is gooorrrrrgeous.

I just don't like kidney AT ALL, so a steak and kidney is sadly not as good, unless the kidney are in nice big bits and I can pick them out.

Must admit one of the things I loved most about Australia was the fact that whereas we have sandwich shops for lunch they have pie shops. They are brilliant and, at the decent places, they are all cooked fresh for lunch (queues forming outside ready for them to start serving). The other great thing is the variety - have all the usual Steak, steak & kidney, chicken etc ones but also have Mexican chilli, Chicken Tandoori and plenty of others. If you want to see the things one of the big chains does have a look HERE and look under "Our menu" (they have different varieties for different states) Makes me hungry just thinking of it
