Running the Great North Run.

As per the thread title I am runinng the Great North Run, 13.2 miles through Newcastle to Gateshead.
I am doing this on behalf of Great Ormond Street childrens hospital and obviously want to raise as much as I can for this cause.

So I am asking you fine members if any of you will sponsor me for this slog that I will be enduring on the 5th October.

Hi Jeff, nice to see this thread! funnily enough sat here in my 1998 GNR t-shirt!! and its that long since I did my last 1/2 marathon.

I had hoped to do it in under 3 hours, but I now think I will be closer to 3.30given I am not a natural fitness type person, and was struggling when I tried 11 miles th other week.

1) I am no longer a child

2) the Run is in Newcastle, not West London
