Sorting Out A Superb/Passat

This is a cheap remedy package for some of the more common faults


1 - Water In footwell

Remedy - drill 6 5mm holes in the floor

2 - Brake Problems

Remedy - cut two large holes in floor and flintstone it at the junctions

3 - Rattling Pads

Remedy - Buy ear buds or small headphone set

4 - Uneven tyre wear

Remedy - place old fridge unit on middle rear seat

5 - CV Gaiter

Remedy - take three tesco bags put them inside each other, make 20mm hole in open end, fit to shaft and duck tape it until it's sealed

6 - No interior lights

Remedy - Buy a cheap torch, or place some tea lights on the floor

7 - Radio not working

Remedy - Take singing lessons

8 - Boot Struts Failure

Remedy - leave luggage on back seat

I must have been lucky then with the 2 of them I've had in a row over the last 5.5 years....outside of pt 1 and the knock on effect on the parking sensors, I've not had a single fault and I cover in excess of 20k each year!

Tyres have worn evenly, with the fronts being changed in tandem approx 22,000 and the rears at about 50 k. (17'' on both models)
