| Briskodian | Splashing Puddles Hi Guys, Was out other day in my Furby and went through a puddle not realising I had splashed a pedestrian. I felt really bad about it. The weather was terrible all day and there was oncoming traffic so couldn't have moved out the way, it sorta come from nowhere. I've heard various people say you can get done for it and all that, I'm worrying now I'm gonna get the book thrown at me. Cheers Dan |

| Briskodian | Re: Splashing Puddles There was a case in the news about that IIRC about a year ago, though IIRC there were other things that made it a more special case. I remember an old joke about the guy who wanted to get rich and buy a roller so that he could splash water at his poor relatives. I doubt a Furby qualifies TBH, assuming you were going at no more than the speed of the prevailing traffic, then pedestrians would (or at least should) see any puddle before a driver would, as the previous car must have gone through it. Doesn't hurt to driver slower in any case when pedestrians are around though... Regards Mo |

| Briskodian | Re: Splashing Puddles I know how you feel. I splashed through a puddle the other day because of on-coming traffic and soaked a pedestrian. He must have been 60+ so I stopped to apologise and offeded him a lift home. He was fine abotu it as he knew there was nothing I coul dhave done to avoid it - he declined the lift home because he diddnt think he'd be able to get out of my car becaus ethe seat was too low ![]() |

| Re: Splashing Puddles Yes , driving through puddles to drench people can be classed as inconsiderate driving and people have been done for it.

| Re: Splashing Puddles I saw a girl of about 8/9 years old seeking the largest puddle so she could get a right soaking the other day.

| Re: Splashing Puddles iirc its driving without due care and attention, as pedestrians are classed as road users too. Similarly, if you're turning off a main road into a side street and a pedestrian is crossing, they have right of way!

Yes, it's in the highway code to give way to pedestrians crossing side streets. It's also in the highway code about stopping at zebra crossings, often seen as go-faster stripes especially when it's raining hard ![]() Mo

umbrella through the windows is the very least they would have deserved.if i see people walking near a puddle, i make the effort to either slow down or drive around the puddle. but if there's no peds about, the puddle's fair game and i make as big a splash as possble ![]()

I think its a combination of hilarious and tight to splash pedestrians. I have never done it myself, I tend to avoid puddles! But if theres a bunch of ch*vs with their white lightning I think they deserve all they get! lol!

The guy in front of me got them good style, to which they were laughing and jumping around. I avoided the puddle, not so much to stop from soaking them, but for the sake of my brakes as a junction was coming up. (yeah, I konw, way too sensible). ![]()
