About 17 years ago Mrs P was shouted in by our next door neighbour, her sister was visiting, was heavily pregnant, and had gone into labour.
Mrs P went in to find the woman in the toilet in some distress, got her to take off her trousers, and then proceeded to deliver a healthy baby girl.
The woman was much appreciative and the girls middle name is my wife's name.

She has only seen the girl once since the birth, about 10 years ago.

Anyhow, fast forward to last night, eldest son brings home his new girlfriend for us to meet, yep you've guessed it, the baby delivered by the wife is now our son's girlfriend.

So what do you think, fate, coincidence or dead spooky.

Coincidences just happen, all you can do is accept 'em. I seem to go through phases in my life where they happen in bursts -must be cosmic rays or something.

Myself and SWMBO have a story like that.

I've got a mate from the borders who is with another car club and myself and SWMBO went to a show where we met him and he was telling me he came from the a small town in the borders. SWMBO also had a pal in the same town who she went to college with. It turns out SWMBO's pal is best pals with my mate with the car and that they went to school in the borders.

Small world.

The other wierd thing about this is when the wife last seen her she gave her a pound, she asked the girl last night if she remembered this.
She said she had been talking to her Mum about it only a fortnight ago.

it is a small world.
the second day we arrived in Calgary last year the first people we spoke to in the local Second Cup coffee shop were not only from my home town of Gloucester but the guy went to the same school as me and we had been to the same weddings as well. we are now very good friends

At neelyp. Coincidences do happen - or more particularly paths cross again years later - I know of several instances I could relate, but I'm more worried to be honest at which point the proverbial "evil twin" (per soap operas) will arrive. (Not sure about the twin of whom though.) Mine started posting on here so I just garotted her so it's only me now.

On the upside (I think), mum will have a soft spot, or alternatively, could say, "So! I delivered you and this is how you behave!"

OK - coincidences - they have just now started a new talking point on the radio (LBC 97.3) - six degrees of separation. Think, I'll change my vote to "Spooky".
