The Strangest thing you've done at work

This is for me. I am currently sitting at my desk with a tea bag on my eye.! I have a sty in my eye and someone told me to put a teabag on it. I must look so silly but will wait and see if it works.

Anyone else done something strange like this?

The only one I'm willing to divulge at this time happened a few days ago. I picked up an unwanted pudding that had a plume of whipped cream on the top, shoved my mouth in the cream and then kissed a colleague full on the lips thus transferring the cream onto them. They are still recovering.

I doing some work in between trying keep the tea bag on my face and clean up the mess it is making when it falls on my work. My work is now teastained. But my eye is cooling nicely though.. Quite refreshing a tea bag on the eye.

Hmm Creampie amateurs Vol 4!.

I was once locked in a cupboard for a laugh, so using my wits I decided to set a smoke alarm off using an aerosol, hoping that the noise would make them let me oot. I didn't realise the smoke alarm was wired into the monitored fire alarm system until the fire brigade turned up. oops!

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

We used to have many games in the office, the best one was cricket. Old machine for the wickets, a cricket bat and a ball made from a combination of lots of paper and tape (by the end the ball was solid) with 4-5 players it was really good.

Used to play all the time during the summer.....and never got called of because of rain

Then we all bought some plastic guns that fire the little rubber bullets, they all broke eventually but the thought of them still lives on.

American football with a foam ball someone found and the projector screen stand as the goals, there are more but there we go

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

Wrapped everything in paper on a colleague’s desk, chair, keyboard, mouse, pens(individually of course) monitor, mouse mat. EVERYTHING

Swapped all the numbers on the phone so it was the same way up as the keyboard number pad. It took a few attempts to figure out as well!

I'd say the strangest thing had to be slip under the radar for three months!

I was seconded to the tech team who worked in an office that had a coded door! They all got laid off but as i was only seconded they kind of missed me out!

for three months i just sat in a room on my own, no manager nothing, just me and some empty desks.

got in about 11, went home around 2pm.

some days my phone even rang!

I got found out eventually and handed my notice in.

they still continued to pay me for another four months (until i came back)

still here now!

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

I was pushed down a hill backwards in my client's wheelchair by other members of staff.

I suppose quite an odd one which you won't do in many other jobs is sit outside in the garden having a brew and a fag and occasionally do a modicum of paperwork.

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

Last week on nights, someone had left a violin on a train, so we hall had a go of that, it was just like hearing Beethovens violin concerto, but with th notes in the wrong order.

Then the owner of said violin called to see if we had found it and if they could come down to the depot an pick it up.

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

I once labeled everthing in the staff room with post it notes, and I mean everything. My boss was not amused when she went in there at 6am the next morning. She did know what everthing was though!

Also had to be investigated by the H.R manager for "alledged microwave experimentation", but nothing was ever proved.

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

Iused to work for a crane hire company and there was one bloke there who was always playing practical jokes on everyone ,so i hooked his pushbike up to the crane hook ,and hoisted it up 180 feet in the air .The look on his face when he came to go home ,couldnt see his bike, then DID see it ,was priceless, especially as he had to walk home 3 miles and i had the crane keys in my pocket..Needless to say ,his practical jokes became few and far between after this

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

We have a chap at work who is quite 'well built' would be a word for it lol.

We had to borrow his demo Jetta for a customer to use whilst their car was in for service. When we got the car back we put the seat in to the futhest back lowest position possible and same with the back rest. We then got the technicians to disconnect/jam the slide handle to it wouldnt lock and slid the chair into its normal position... so when he got in it would fall right back to where we set it.... we also changed his radio station to something he wouldn't like and 'on volumn' to highest...

sooo when he got in car later it was one of funniest things we've ever seen... as he fell back he couldnt move!!

Final touch was chaining the car with a bike D lock to the lampost we parked it right against.

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

Strangest thing we've done usually involves using strategic cuttings from a gentlemans magazine and placing them in the youngest lads lunch box, his mum found them when she was washing it later that night......ROFL.

Another was done to the same lad. A bra was found on the course so it was atached to the front of the mower he was using. He was driving around for quite a while wondering what we were all laughing at....

Last Friday I watched 3 of my (male) colleagues wrestling, wearing only their undies and covered in baby oil. That qualifies as quite strange I reckon!

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

10 years ago we stuck the centre pages of a adult magazine to the back of the bosses car, he drove about 50 miles and couldnt work out why people were tooting and waving. he got to the company he was visiting for a meeting about renewing a contract and got called out the meeting, everyone was in the car park pointing and laughing, he was fuming and we had a rather irate boss on the phone asking which one of us did it

once gaffer taped a work experience lad to an office chair and left him out on the roof for a few hours in the pi**ing rain, but that didn't stop him getting lairy so the next day we bundled him into an empty flight case and rolled it down the town centre and left it there for a while...

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

youve reminded me of some more. birthday boy locked up in the back of a 7.5t wagon and taken for a trip down memory lane (sorry bumby country lane) by one of our nutcase drivers. Traffic office guy decided he couldnt get home so slept on a chair up stairs in the sales office, we gaffer taped his legs to the chair legs, his arms to the arms and then rang him up from down stairs and heard a massive thudd as he tried to get out of the chair.

A cheeky YTS lad was shrunk wrapped to a chair and placed next to the septic tank for the afternoon (with lid open) wasnt so checky after that...

A coke can was left in the office with about a mouthful left, i disposed my cigarette in it as i always used a coke can for this (going back about 10 years again) it turned out was the traffic guys drink, he took a swig.... lets say it made a good projectirile).

ill have to see if i can remember anymore.

Re: The Strangest thing you've done at work

A saleswoman phoned for my boss whilst we were all having a brew break. I asked my boss if he wanted to take the call. He said he'd pay me £50 if I got rid of her by telling her he was having a poo. I duly did this - easiest £50 I've ever made!
