.....and they have 4 long years to remeber that they were beaten by "Dad's Army", I like friendly banter but the Aussies took it too far.
It was nice to see the French supported England, at least one other Northern Hemisphere country understands (and plays) good rugby ~ oh and the Italians are good too

Hey! Yes, I was supporting England.
That's right, me, a Scotsman, supporting the gallant team of our neighbours to the south.
Well done England!

If you were supporting England, then fantastic, however, far too many Scots and Welsh hate the English so much that they will support ANYBODY other than us. Many English are becoming increasingly disillusioned with this attitude, which is akin to racism. I happily cheer on the Welsh, Scots and Irish when they are playing as do most English and love to see all British teams do well, without having some misguided grudge about being conquered centuries ago.

I've been at the blunt end of Welsh nationalism whilst studying at Swansea. It was during the one time the Welsh beat us at rugby, 32-31 at Twickenham during the six nations in 1999 I think it was... That was not a night to be going out in town, red shirts everywhere! And that scoreline seemed to get rubbed in for the rest of my time there

(despite us not losing to the Welsh ever since)

I have to say that I will cheer on any home nation in any international championship, even EU countries involved in battles against other continental countries. Oh, except the French in the footie, but I was pleased to hear the French supported us this morning, despite us whupping them in the semi's.

We weren't conquered. We just had a little bankruptcy problem.

I will support England whenever they play. I draw the line at supporting them against Scotland though.

Well done again England.

All I do is return the favour, I for one am glad that both Scotland and Wales are out of euro 2004 because neither of them would support England if it was the other way round. ******** to the lot of them. (apart from the ones on this site obviously )

What a great day! made it hard for ourselves but got there in the end. Like many of you I always used to support all UK teams, of whatever sport, when playing.

However life experiences has refined that view, many of the scots cannot comprehend the fact that we, on occasions would support their teams. Therefore I could never support theirs.

The welsh and irish, whilst competitors, do not seem to be so small minded.

Heh Heh , you guys should live where I do , its about a 65-35 split here in favour of England but theres plenty of Scots around (1 mile from the Border u see!) to convey their hatred of all things English! Im another England fan who happily cheers on Wales and Scotland (i happen to think that Land of my Fathers is one of the most inspirational national anthems in the world , i never fail to get goosebumps when i hear it , especially sung with vigour at the millenium stadium!)..i guess im too soft then eh?
