| Re: thieving scumbags I'm so sorry to hear that. Was it a Unilet? or halls? I'm in a Unilet and everything is insured for just £12! My advice is to get the police round - then goto the University and state that you have had an issue. The university will then help you with the insurance and advise you to cancel all your cards ect in the purse. If you need anymore help or advice on what to do next please PM me - I'm a hall rep and have to deal with this alot. Hope this helps, Rob

| Re: thieving scumbags Filth that break into peoples homes or abodes to steal ,should be locked up for 3 years minimum and then the sentence should be doubled every time they re offend I cant understand the mind of people who think that they have the right to help themselves to other peoples hard earned possesions. | Re: thieving scumbags My house at uni got broken into 3 times in one year during my 2nd year of Uni, i dont know anyone who didnt have their house broken into at least once. I just gave up having nice things at uni until i paid through to the nose to move into private halls that were like fort knox in my fourth year. Could relax a little then. |

| Go Gadget Octy! | Re: thieving scumbags Very common with student digs, as they're hoping for laptops and electronics. Usually worst at the start, Christmas, and just before pack up (as everyone thinks the crime's stopped, and gets lax). Trouble is you cant change the locks, so you have no idea who has a key. Some low lifes date students simply to get a copy of the key when it's a multi share house. |

| Re: thieving scumbags mum had her milk stolen this morning, by the time she told me and i got over they were gone (pikeys in a transit van delivering thompson directories) later on that day the milk was returned. so im guessing either thompson directory got on to the pikeys or the police caught up with them. |

| Re: thieving scumbags Daughter in 2nd year at Leeds so she's in private terraced house (7 flats) in Headingly area, full of similar Victorian-era houses. Last week seven houses in her street alone were burgled. Later that week a woman PC went up and down the street and found around eight houses were unlocked - so she waited until some residents returned and bollocked em.

| Re: thieving scumbags I would have killed my housemates if we had left the doors unlocked, everytime they did ours they either kicked a door in or smashed a window, twice when people were in. My housemate got badly assualted once when he tried to stop them. Could say much much more but it depresses me to think about it. |
