| Totally non-Skoda W2K Exchange question ... I'm struggling here boys ... I need to disable the sending of read and delivery receipts for an account on my Exchange Server (2000 flavour). I've set up a "copy" mailbox to monitor traffic going to 2 different addresses, but now my new mailbox generates a "read" receipt and a "delivery" receipt, if requested, and it has somewhat given the game away! I'm probably just being dozy, but for the life of me I can't see how to disable the generation of such pesky receipts, assuming that this feature is there. Any ideas? Answers on a postcard please ... Crimbo hugs (and maybe even a pint if you live close enough) to the sender of the first correct entry ... Chris |

| Chris, It's been a while since I played with exchange server, but is somewhere like Tools, optionss and then there is another menu in there somewhere for Receipts. May be wrong. Looking for a machine with it on at the moment.

| Hi Andy, isn't that just in Outlook? I wondered about doing it in Outlook and seeing if the effect "stuck" even if someone else accessed the mailbox to check the contents. Anyway, lunch has arrived, so I've more important things to worry about now Chris :drive: |

| Bugger you're right sorry. Try global settings, internet message formats, properties and on the advanced tab there is a an allow delivery reports check box. Think that's right this time.

| tools - options - email options - tracking is where you set the options to deny all receipts in outlook but that doesn't work with Exchange accounts , only those with POP3 mailboxes pulled from the net. There is no way of blocking just read receipts , but you could probably set up a rule to prevent *any* message from your snooping account going back to the one you are snooping on. Of course the other thing to do would just be to open the mailbox of the person you want to spy on and that they won't be aware of.
