VW servicing price match!

I noticed in The Mail On Sunday an advert from VW saying they will match any like for like written quote for servicing from any garage using genuine VW parts within a 5 mile radius.

For more info go to

volkswagen.co.uk/pricepromise or call 0800 333 666.

Thought this might be of some interest!

Also quite impressive for one of the large car manufacturers to try and get business back from Independants. Might get owners back into their garage and look at new cars and it'll be easier to get warranty work carried out at the same time.

I think they have all done it for some time.
It normally only takes the ' I'll go somewhere else then' line to work.
( It worked for me anyway )

Knowing that it's on offer before you go in makes it easier than dealing with a service staff's attitude where they maybe can't be bothered and let you walk out the door.

Re: VW servicing price match!

If you have to ask for a written quote for a service estimate to say that you can get it done for the same price elsewhere, most garages will charge you for it.
All the time and messing about tends to negate any advantages made elsewhere imho.
A phone call asking for a 'best price' usually works.
It could be me, but, I can't be arsed wasting half a day to save £25.

Re: VW servicing price match!

I doubt the written quote would be required but if 2 garages were close enough then it wouldn't be that much bother especially if it was the cambelt, water pump and 4 years 60,00 mile service!

I've just had my Fabias 30k service, water pump, cambelt, rear discs/pads and mot done at my local main dealers at £70 less than a reputable tuning firm quoted me.
I never even raised my voice, and the first price was fairly Awesome anyway

Re: VW servicing price match!

I guess it depends where you live and which independent garages you have close by. I live near Edinburgh where the labour rates are sky high but with the likes of Star Performance and other near by then the difference can be substantial.

Dealing with my local Skoda dealer before I changed to VW I would have gladly paid more money just to get the level of service that I felt I deserved and I've found a local independent that gives the best of both world due to better price and service but I would always try to use main dealers for that all important stamp in the service book.

Re: VW servicing price match!

Lol I just got quoted £285 for my second service so I will definitely be going elsewhere unless they do something.
