| Briskodian | Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven See, I have a light touch. I'm fed up with having to bash each key or go back and fill in the missing letters Grrrrr. Are manufacturers now making keyboards more to accommodate the pressure menfolk exert? ![]() Posting this here as might be just me ![]() PS: How are you meant to recyle the darn things? I keep keeping them in case an old one might be better than the current disaster, but there comes a time when even I have to consider mundane things ![]() Sorry, couldn't help laughing at my own joke there ![]() Mo |

| Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven I brought myself a Zboard Merc a year or so back for £25 and it's proven to be incredibly tough. It's designed as a gaming keyboard with a built in pad geared towards FPS games, but the quality of the main keys is superb and it allows multiple key presses to a degree that would have normal keyboards overflowing their buffers. ![]() |

Me want one Where buy pretty please? @ westerdam2: Swop wiv yer????? Re the other keyboard, I have one, a Yahama as I always wanted to learn piano Went for lessons to a teacher from a postcard ad in a shop window and he had two - one I would say was "normal" and one more like Reginald Dixon in Blackpool Tower and insisted that I learn on that one... Hmmm. Why, I don't know. However, I did learn how to play "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside; Oh, I do like to be beside the sea..." ![]() Mo | |

| Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven It's USB, so should work with either. We occasionally use Dell/Kingston keyboards with our Macs so it should work vice-versa. You may need to change one or two configurations for some symbols, maybe.

| Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven If that's thin for you check out this one, probably the best invention of the century for dirty tards like myself it's cheap too, I wonder how a normal keyboard would handle the junk I usually spill on them like tobacco, energy drinks, coke, pepsi, dust, finger nails, oil and such...

| Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven ![]() The Mac ones are lush, yes you may have to configure a couple of the buttons, no biggy. I love the old IBM ones, very pricey still though, and annoy everyone within hearing distance too. Very robust, but not a "light touch" I really like my Dell XPS laptop keyboard, not that it helps you Mo... ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven I'll have to see what's in the shops that I can try. Game has no Zmerc's in stock online, so they must be popular. They might get stock for Xmas so will ask locally about those. My son had a flexible one which he liked when learning, but went off it once he could touch type. Brilliant against orange juice and crumbs though. The flat Apple one looks promising, especially for typing with longer fingernails where one keeps fingers flat. Thanks for all the info ![]() Mo |

| Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven I really rate all Logitech wireless keyboards for their durability and touch softness.

| Briskodian | Re: Want new keyboard! My spare room is like keyboard heaven I've got a wireless flat (laptop layout) belkin one which has so far survived nearly 2 years of abuse. Quite often using oily fingers, it's still perfectly legible, none of the buttons are sticky either in motion or when it comes to making contact and I have so far been pretty impressed with it. It usually covers at least 15,000 words a month and has been working since day one without a hitch. The battery life is usually at least 6 months too from a pair of AAA's. |
