That’s quite sad really

. A lot of people didn’t like him, but I had the opportunity to work with him in the late 80s and he seemed a really nice guy. As your link shows too Dave, he did an awful lot for charity.

First heard the news as a mere snippet around 7pm last night and immediately thought "You've been boxed". Mean, I know, but as another wrote similarly, I said to my son, "Do you think that's for real?" expecting him to pop out into the studio...

I seem to recall he had the biggest private library of books outside the British Museum some years ago? More to the man than, er, didn't meet the eye it transpires. RIP
