What have President Bush and speeding cameras got in common?

They are both ****ing me off around Sedgefield today.

I took the car into Sedgefield Motor Company for a new dump valve this morning only to find the place crawling with cops - not exactly a surprise i know, however there were also at least 4 (*******/****ing/goddamn/insert own expletive if required) speed camera vans around the place in addition to 2 fixed Gatso's in the 3 miles between my house and the garage. What do these do to aid the Texan Tit's safety? Bugger all thats what - if old Osama wants to run Bush over he aint gonna worry about a sodding speed camera is he?

Well i know why - its cos of the cost of having 2000 plod surrounding a town of only 3000 people (millions of quid), so hey, they'll take money back from the likes of me and you who are doing 2 miles an hour over a stupidly low limit in the first place.

I did get a bit of revenge tho....i sat there for 10 mins warning drivers coming the opposite way to slow down.

Excellent, I have been so tempted to do this on obvious "cash machine" encampments...I've been advised your actions should be reported as :

Warning the oncoming drivers of the danger spot ahead?

This is something I've done since getting my first job as a delivery driver in Merc 814 7 1/2 ton trucks and vans. Drivers of commercial vehicles often give each other friendly warnings of potential hazards around a blind bend, mobile speed cameras etc. Actually, thinking about it, I don't tend to warn car drivers anymore, just commercials. Flash a speeding car driver and you get the , flash a lorry driver and nine times out of ten you get a

Thats exactly what i was doing...in fact i was assisting the Law by enabling people to make an informed decision to slow down, assisting the 'safety'(grrrrr) cameras to do their job.!!!!!

Well there I was sat at my desk drinking a nice cup of tea and gazing out of the window watching the world go by. Then this flew past...

Shame you didn't have a rocket launcher tucked under your desk. That would have made a mockery of the huge security operation....

Could be either AirForce 1 or 2, you need to get a look @ the tail numbers to tell the difference.

I was over at Teesside airport earlier parked at the end of the runway

Pics to follow ....

Had the scanner on all morning too, there's hell on in Sedgefield

I can't remember most of them, but I can still tell the difference between a F-111C and an F-111F

Here's an interesting monday morning fact for ya. Apparently the callsign Airforce 1 is nothing to do with the actual aircraft but relates to the president himself. Therefore if the president was aboard any US military aircraft then that aircraft uses the callsign AF1. yes even a knackered old Dakota for example. If the president is not on-board the big blue 747's then those aircraft revert back to their individual callsigns which is a series of numbers displayed on the tail section.

If I remember rightly after Nixon resigned due to the watergate fiasco the new President Ford was sworn in while Nixon was en-route somewhere aboard AF1. Midway through the flight the aircraft no longer with the President aboard had to radio ground control and advise them of the change in callsign.
