| What should the skumbag get?? Guys, can i have you opinion on what the little towrag who pulled out in front of me should get as punishment from the law?? As i was travelling along a dual carriageway last monday at 70mph, some nutcase decides to come the wrong way up a one way slip road & pull out into the fast lane, right in front of me, causing me to smash straight into the back of him at around 50mph!! Luckily, no-one was killed, however i did have to spend two hours in A & E getting my neck checked out! The police were obviously callled & after the usual interviews & breath tests, i was told by the law that this little skumbag doesnt have any insurance or car tax...!! It should be a straight forward case as there were other witnesses, but i dont suppose that will make much difference to the slapped wrist he'll get..!! Surely there should be greater deterents to stop t*ssers like this getting on the road... (Un)fortunately my beloved octavia vrs is repairable but only because its 5 months old.. (sorry, dont know whether i want it back or would prefer it written off) Also, neither airbag went off - slightly suprised there... any thoughts??? ![]() |

| Being the charitable sort, I'd send him a christmas card. Hopefully his neck is OK from where you so visciously ran into the back of him. He probably only did it as he is a deprived individual with a neglected childhood from a broken home. 3 to 1 he tries to claim on your insurance. ![]() On the other hand, if I was being rather less PC, I'd say find out where the cnut lives go round and beat 7 bells out of him, rape his pets, pillage his CD collection (which is bound to be extensive) and torch his house. (Actually I'd get someone else to do it so I had an alibi)Guess which of the above are my real feelings on this. I feel for you, I had something similar, but with a drunk driver, driving down my side of a dark country road at 1 in the morning with no lights on. I thought it was a parked car, to late I realised that he was coming towards me. Needless to say that with a closing speed of >100mph it could have been a large accident, luckily I almost avoided him and we both ended up in a ditch. He told the police when they arrived that I had knocked a load of his teeth out when I gave him a beating. They disagreed and said he'd probably done the injuries in the collision, they then took me to one side and recommended that I went and got my knuckles seen to ![]() I didn't want my car back - strangely enough the estimate for the repairs came to about £100 more than 50% of the value of the car (lucky that ) so as it was under 1yr old I got a new one.I do feel for you, really, makes me mad and I hope he gets what is coming to him. |

| Sorry to here that, is it no wonder our insurance is going throught the roof year on year due to idiots like this. He will no doubt get banned but will in all reality still drive! At the end of the day this should be classed as attempted manslaughter due to his reckless behaviour with what is a lethal weapon and sentenanced accordingly!! |

| What should the skumbag get?? i caught a program the following night after it had happened where the police in barnsley had pulled someone over for having no insurance.... he got a 5 yr ban, hefty fine & got his car crushed. so i guess my skumbag will get a 5 minute ban, 50 quid fine & as i've already crushed his car, he'll probably nick someone elses!!! in my opinion, he should be jailed for no insurance, no tax, dangerous driving, driving the wrong through no entry signs..... etc, & also banned for life, but then i'm not a judge (probably good job, otherwise we'd need more prisions!!) |

| Sorry to here about your unfortunate incident. The little scumbag should be stripped of all state benefits for life, and band from ever driving again. As for the car, I can understand how you feel, often a car is never the same after a large accident repair. However, if the car didn't need jigging then it was most likely only the crumple zone was damaged, which may explain the airbags not going off. |

| Unfortunately , the scumbag probably won't get what he deserves , which I feel as SilveRS does , that he should be banned for life .....but that isn't going to happen . I reckon I could sort out most of our problems in this country ........... Convicted murderers should be put up against a wall and shot ..........a lethal injection is far too kind ! Convicted rapists and serial sex offenders should have their balls cut off ..............why not ? we do it to dogs , and these people are a lot worse than dogs . Driving without insurance .............life ban Illegal immigrants , send them back to where they came from , even if it means putting them on a first class flight , it's still a damn sight cheaper than keeping them on state benefits for the rest of their lives . I don't expect everyone to agree with my views , perhaps a little radical for some , but come the revolution ...............Vote for me !

At least no-one was killed. In the middle of August I was driving down a road when I heard a motorbike engine going at full pelt on the other side of the road. Just after he came into view he lost control of the bike and started tro come towards me, I had just enough time to swerve out of the way but he crashed into a telegraph pole as we passed, he was waring a polo shirt and shorts and after he came off the bike his helmet came off. Debris from the crash hit my car and what was left of him was 5 doors down. I found out the next day that I went to school with him. I have to drive past this place every day and even though there was nothing I could do it still gets to me. What gets to me the most was that he was banned from driving, so not insured and I had to pay for the repairs myself, while there were all these flowers praising him where it happened. I got rid of my car as soon as it was repaired. There is nothing I can do against the bloke who died, where you're fellow is still alive and although I agree with get the basstard the best thing would be a private prosecution if the police don't as they already have the evidence. What makes me angry though is that he was banned from

| a right royal kicking Britney, Did it occur in Staffs. I'll send the boys round to give him a good beasting. Also check with your insurance company - There is a compensation fund to cover uninsured and illegal drivers - they should be able to give you the details.

| I would imagine he will be prosecuted for dangerous driving, driving without road tax, insurance, etc. For this, he should get a prison sentence. I would use the legal cover on my insurance (you did take this out?) to take a private prosecution against him for recovery of your losses. A nice sized CCJ should stop him getting a life... Alternatively, if all the above fails, I know someone that knows someone (if you know what I mean) that will make him see the error of his ways.... |

Bet the Police loved that! I know they would do the same if they thought they would get away with it! My preference would be to re-aquaint their head with the steering wheel.... Repeatedly... And hard!

| I think just come to a gentlmanly (or womanly) agreement with the witnesses and beat ten barrels of 5h1t out of them whilst they are in the car and say that it was caused by the accident. Or torch the car with them in it and say it was caused by their reckless driving. Need a bit of moral justice here - doesnt matter to what extreme though ![]() |

| Mellowyellow, I take it you've never been falsely accused of rape. I haven't but there was a TV programme last night about a teacher who'd been maliciously accused of groping a pupil. All of it complete lies. He was aquitted, but what about all those who are wrongly imprisoned? Think about those poor women who were wrongly imprisoned for killing babies that had died of natural causes. By your treatment they'd currently be lying in unmarked graves with bullet holes in their heads. I'm sorry, but the death penalty (or any other horrible form of punishment you can invent) is neither a deterrent nor a fair punishment. Prison/mental health treatment is more than adequate for dealing with these people. As for the scumbag in question. I suggest you and your insurance company should pursue civil action against him for the losses, and he should probably serve a prison term.

| I think you should detain their loved ones... all of them. Make them feel lonley and detain anyone they have a vague form of a conversation with. Make them feel isolated from society by playing with their emotions. Emotional tourment is great (sorry sounds morbid) but you can really change someone by doing this |

I have to more or less agree. It is kinda hard to bring someone back to life if it is realised that there has been a miscarriage of justice. Personally I believe it would be better for 100 murders to be left free and alive than to hang one innocent person. However I think there are certain circumstance in which the guilty should be terminated. For example Saddam should be executed and if Osama Bin ladden is caught he should be executed. In general I would say that all terrorists, serial killers etc should be executed but one off murders should simply face a complete life sentence.

On the rather emotional subject of the death penalty, here's quite an interesting link http://www.stephen-stratford.co.uk/capital_hist.htm

| At least the police decided to show up when you had your bump. They weren't interested when I was hit despite the fact the guy ran a red light. Basically he gets away from everything because he was driving a works van and with him working for the local council my council tax with pay my compansation.

| The police threw the book at him, i think. The first time he should of appeared in court he failed to show!! (no surprise there!!), so they issued a warrant for his arrest. Showed the second time, but dont know the outcome - i've just sent a letter to the police to try to get more info. A letter from the court has however informed me he has to pay me £100 compo, of which i have so far received £18!!!! This is after around 6 -8 months, so by 2010, i sould have the whole lot! HOORAY, might be able to buy a mars bar by then!!! ![]()

| Guys, I've got an update on the court case.... not good news considering the offences! For dangerous driving, GUILTY - 18 month driving ban (if he hadnt already got one!) & 100 hours community service! For no tax, no insurance & apparently no licence(!!), GUILTY - no further punishment... If this is all you get for those offences & almost killing 2 people, whats the point of getting a licence & insurance????? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM!!!????? We'll be prosecuting home owners for injuring burglers next!

Have to agree with most things said in here, but beating 9 kinds out of the perbutrator (sp?) on the spot isn't such a good idea, but I won't dwell on that one too much...if some of you get my drift Bad bad news that demac, far too much of it going on, and more power to the plod and courts in these circumstances. Costing us all dearly.Certainly should be banned for a VERY long stretch though. Suprised John hasn't commented yet, after his little incident with a Citroen Xantia recently.

| the justice system is a complete load of b0ll0cks. a kid i knew got hit by a driver earlier this year and killed out-right. the court case has just ended and he got 4 years. i think he was under age, no licence, no insurance, no mot, no tax and racing someone else doing around 80mph in a 50mph limit. he had bought the car for a tenner that day and went joyriding in it. as he got 4 years he will probably only serve 2 of them and the rest as suspended sentance. to the police and justice system you are a waste of time when it really matters
