| Briskodian | Why do some bouncers have to be such merchant bankers all the time? I was out last night in town, when a friend called, who had driven all the way from Stirling to Newcastle and fancied a quick pint. When he called, the bar I was in was very noisy (but was full of lovely women, some of which were snogging right in front of us  - need to get a camera phone one of these days!!!), so I decided to go out of the main bar bit into the "foyer" between the bar and the entrance. I could now hear my mate, and this woman bouncer was saying something, but because of the noise I couldnt really hear what she was saying, so I politely said "give me 2 seconds" - all I wanted to do give my mate directions to where we were. Next thing I know, 4 bouncers are literally physically dragging me outside as if I was some piece of scum that was trying to cause trouble One of them shouted in my ear "when she says out, you get the **** out!"One thing I think did not amuse them was I gave a running commentary to my mate on the phone about exactly what was happenning "one of them has a hold of me by the neck, another is shouting abuse, and the woman seems deeply offended for some reason" I think my mate at least found that pretty hilarious! Not only that but my other mate was left inside the pub probably wondering where I got too. I walked up the street and found my mate then walked back down to find my other mate outside waiting. I kindly "thanked" the bouncers for their fair and polite treatment to which they stuck their fingers up at me. Charming. ![]() |

| My understanding (which comes from a publican friend of mine) is that you can have them for common assault or something if they manhandle you. Just a thought...

| Briskodian | Hmm, i dont think i'd try and do anyone for assault if they didnt cause injury, which they didnt no matter what my feelings on the subject might be, but thats just me. |

| You could always find out if they have a License ( bouncers have to be Licensed now). If not reprt them to Tax office , Police & whoever controls the licencing. The landlord could even find themselves in "winnie the " if they employed unlicensed bouncers. Steve

| actually you'll probably find that most bouncers take their 'job' quite seriously and work out quite a lot and as such could kick your ***, makes it worse in my books
