I remember seeing that on TopGear the first time -- absolutely amazing level of skill involved --- and he's a telecom's engineer - what a waste of the skill's he obviously has.

Saw it at the London Model Engineering Exhibition when I was a teenager - it looks stunning in the metal - but sadly it diddnt run at the show.

What a lot of model engineers do it to build 2 side-by-side. it doesnt actually take twice as long and they then sell one to pay for both.

It's hard to put into words the amount of respect I have for that guy - awe inspiring. That he did that all of that simply from pictures he took of an original 312, then spent 3yrs doing the drawings. That everything works and that he made everything for it. Staggering. He should be working for Ferrari, no doubt. Wonder what he is doing these days though, and if he ever made any bigger versions of any classics?

I remember seeing the original programme - it was part of Jeremy's visit to Italy on his 'Motorworld' series, between 1995-6.
