| Youtube comments . . . . . . you may recall me posting a link a while ago to a video of me playing ACDC Back in Black (a little bit of it) on the guitar I repaired. Now I know I'm hardly an expert guitar player having less than 4 months of playing experience behind me, but yet I received a comment earlier on that said clip that read "your rubbish...to be perfectly honest with you". Why do people do this? Yes I am well aware that I am not very good yet, but surely that's not exactly the way to encourage people? Here's the clip in question: YouTube - Me playing my repaired guitar!! I have noticed this quite a lot actually, this person in question is 26 yrs old . . . what sort of 26 year old goes about making insults like that? Perhaps believable (although still unacceptable) of a 14 yr old . . . . or am I wrong in thinking that throwing insults at people like that is acceptable? ![]()

| Re: Youtube comments . . . Thanks. I was very tempted to post a rude reply but decided to go for something a little different. ![]() Actually, funny you say that, I've been into rock music for years and the last 6 months or so been thinking "would love to learn the electric guitar" . . . so I decided to buy one and start learning at the end of January! Not regretted it. ![]()

| Re: Youtube comments . . . I think it's pretty good Rob for 4 months experience. Certainly better than I ever managed. However, you need to 'Zombie' dance to make it work. That's probably what the twonk was getting at ![]()

| Re: Youtube comments . . . Mate you are good, dont worry what some of the goons on you-tube say, some people just think they are the best all the time. I put a video of my friend and I out drag racing, running 11's at Santa Pod, in his mint 1932 ford hot rod. Soon as we had put it on, people saying it was rubbish and leaving rude messages! Just dont worry. I left you a comment on there anyway to show support against the rude people.

| Re: Youtube comments . . . Thanks, yeah I'm not upset tbh by it tbh because I know that that is the exact intent of the comment, I'm just more dissapointed with the way that a lot of people act on youtube in general. As for the zombie dance, Gilly . . . you've seen my zombie dance and it's nothing like Angus I'm pretty sure. ![]()

| Re: Youtube comments . . . All credit to you for trying to learn something as difficult as this Wished I'd have learned years ago as love the guitar, Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola, Santana, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Tibbet and on and on.......... And, obviously, ignore the prats - too too many of them about, I suppose they think it's cool or something to denigrate others

in the style of comic book guy from the simspons "worst guitar playing ever" i've just had a listen to your greenday song..... SWMBO said "ah, greenday!" whilst i was playing it, so it must sound quite like it then because she's totally tone deaf.. keep up the good work | |

| Re: Youtube comments . . . This sort of insulting comment thing is a bit like road-rage. People act differently when posting to forums/YouTube than they would to your face; same as they will shout & swear at you from the safety of their car. It annoys me too but it's just life, the world is full of rude, selfish & ignorant people acting tough & I guess it's just something you have to put up with when you post to public forums. Treat these comments as if they don't exist. Don't feed the trolls. Just reply to the decent people. Sticks & Stones. |

| Re: Youtube comments . . . It's such a shame that so many forums have gone that way, you're just as likely to have someone say it's rubbish as you are to have someone else say it's great. And like you say, they're only looking for an argument... I thought it sounded great, esp for the amount of time you've been playing, but I do think you need to bend your knees more ![]()

| Re: Youtube comments . . . Yep! Actually, I played along with the CD for the first time tonight and realised my timings were miles out on the youtube video! Somebody did comment to that effect which prompted me to investigate it further. When I play it to the CD I actually find myself involuntarily moving more to the beat as I play so maybe that's the key. ![]() Unfortunately I had to just back down to rythym playing when the solo came in. I need to improve that section of my playing a lot.
