| Canon 450D test weekend Took the 450D on it's first outing. OMG i've had terrible troubles I took around 1000 shots on Saturday most of which are out of focus or over exposed Bear in mind I was mostly using the camera on auto![]() Today I went out into the garden to have a play with the manual settings. Much better, only 70% out of focus ![]() There is much learning ahead. Here are a couple of the better ones. |

| Re: Canon 450D test weekend What lense you using? We've got the older 400D. Lots of learning for us to do. Going to try and take some fireworks shot when we're over at disney world in septmeber. Be interesting to see how they turn out.

I think a lot of my troubles were caused by moving subjects ie ducks/birds and a Grandson that won't stand still. Post your pics up. be nice to see how others are getting on. Last edited by Chris.G; 14-07-2008 at 12:09. | |

| Re: Canon 450D test weekend One review I read said they had an unexpected number of out-of-focus shots Digital Camera Resource Page Review: Canon EOS Rebel XSi Under What I didn't like :- Seemed to produce an abnormal number of out-of-focus shots So it may not be you - and hopefully there'll be a firmware update to address this.

| Re: Canon 450D test weekend Is that first one up at Greenwich Observatory Chris? I like the selection you've put up ![]() I'm still learning the 350D and that's been three years now, so will come in time I reckon ![]() I use the 'P' setting for everyday stuff, mainly because you can then choose yourself when to use flash, or elect to up ISO and tweak white-balance to get the shot you're after. Never had a major issue with out-of-focus shots personally, aside from user error! I started with the 18-55 kit lens, now using the 17-85 IS for everyday. Just enjoy the learning curve; the shots will come Steve

| Re: Canon 450D test weekend The 400 and 450D have been slated for occasionally over exposing some shots. I've never had it on my 400D, though. It should be easy enough to correct in photoshop or something. Blurry shots can be caused by using program mode and not watching the shutter speed that the camera's set. If it's lower than 1/125 it won't give the stop motion effect. Phil |
