MKIII Capri 2.0 Laser

I have managed to get myself a 1986 Ford Capri 2.0 Laser.
With only 77k on the clock, but not much in the way of service history, but it has had only one local owner in the last 20 years. I know the garage he has serviced it at and they are pretty good guys.

It's mineral blue, and has done 56 miles since last MOT. Which has just expired. I pushed it back to the workshop and gave it a bit of a clean, put some air in the tyres, jump started it and let it idle for a minute and took it for a spin..

It's very very cool. It is like going back in time. Plus everyone expects to see it going sideways around roundabouts and corners so they laugh and give me the thumbs up instead of phoning the police.

That's just a few pics of it in the workshop. I'll take some more outside when it's a bit smarter!

NEWS

Arrived today: New Weber 32/36 DGAS Carb, the SU one on puts the c in rap. Also has K&N filter attached to it. Also at the moment I'm hunting for a 4-2-1 manifold once I get that I shall get a non-ch@v exhaust. Once I've done that I plan to get a Piper camkit. Also tart the bodywork up at some point.

I shall take some pics this weekend!

NEWS

MOT: Passed!

It failed at first on drivers wiper blades, a bulb, and o/s/f tyre.
I took the wiper and the bulb off my mates car who drove me down there and put the spare on the car and she passed!

Returned my mates bits and off I went, obviously I have now bought a new bulb and set of wipers I just wanted to avoid making a return trip to the MOT testers.

It's also got a blocked jet in the carb I think, and the timing is way out it runs like a bag of spanners. So going to play with that Friday hopefully.
