| Skoda Estelle 1300GL... work in progress! Hi guys! Some girls eat chocolate after getting dumped... I've got hold of a Skoda Estelle to road rally... Very much work in progress... first step was to get an engine for her!! Got hold of a felica 136b engine, new oil pressure switch, new head set, new distributor, new weber 30 BDIC, new alt belt, rapid 136 inlet manifold, felica exhaust manifold and custom exhaust.... ![]() Does anyone else road rally with anything similar? | Re: Skoda Estelle 1300GL... work in progress! Aww... I was all excited about the proposal until I read down further... I'll have to make do with my new toy! ![]() She's getting MOT'd today - fingers crossed but she should be ok. Then have the task of getting the current engine out as I'm picking up the new engine for her tomorrow. Looking forwards to getting my hands nice and dirty ![]() |

| Re: Skoda Estelle 1300GL... work in progress! Well, she flew through the MOT - despite not having a working engine - she was driven down to the test centre ok but seized when she got there and had to be trailered home... nevermind, cos the engine was out later that afternoon (with a little help from my friends - I'm new to this getting your hands dirty malarky - but loving it!!). Off to pick up the new engine now, hopefully gonna be fitted today... fingers crossed! |

| Re: Skoda Estelle 1300GL... work in progress! Despite sub-zero temperatures (and having to work outside!!!), we got the new engine all fitted and connected today. She started up first time and sounds absolutely AMAZING!!!!! ![]() ![]() Not had a proper drive in her yet cos she's still SORN but had a bit of a go (on private property cos I'm a good girl!). She still needs a bit of work and I'm yet to get insured on her (but got a quote of Ł150 which I was extremely pleased with, given that I'm 26 and only have 1 years no claims). The paint work on her is mint, she need's a bloody good clean but will definitely scrub up pretty well! (Like me it could be said, lol!).Did anyone else see in Top Gear magazine Hammond was talking about falling in love with an Estelle? The same thing has definitely happened to me!!!! A couple of pics of the new engine... Last edited by estelle_girl; 13-01-2009 at 09:40. |
