Currently looking at a couple of months before the transfer of bits can start in earnest, but I am doing as much prepping as I can (which is more than I thought but less than I'd like to be able to do hehe)

Sorry about the delay on the pictures, I am having serious trouble with my web server at the moment. Instead I've gone for a facebook album (which I can sometimes get to at work, not always though).

Link here but will also stick one in the first post

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Rubber mat fitted, will fit the boot storage nets and mudflaps this weekend, hopefully the Forge and Allard stuff will arrive by courier to my office today, if not monday would be handy, but it's getting there.

Have to measure up the size of the soundproofing that I need, and I may heat wrap the remainder of the exhaust.

Fingers crossed I can find the time to get the spring compressors from Halfords or similar place.

17" wheels are work in progress, col6821 is getting one of the wheels refurbed as part of the sale to me, and hoping to meet up next weekend to get those on, so I can flog on my vRS wheels

Got onto facebook - First time I see a fabia Estate - love the rear end - begging for some spoilerage IMHO.

Gonna be a truly unique machine when you're done mate!

Good Luck!

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Really liking looks of this project, definiatly still in opinion that it will need vRS bumper at front and rear boot spoiler as a must. Will be one of a kind

But hey ho when finances allow as i know you are working on a tight budget.

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

It is still possible - just gonna take my time on those things, budget permitting. The hope is to make the remaining work self-financing by flogging some stuff that will be left as spare, will see how that works out

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Just been in touch with Allards - looks like the proper EGR removal pipe (large version) will be sent out today, annoyingly I am not in the office until next week, but at least it will be underway

The high flow inlet manifold will be sent later. I have to get the gasket and do some port matching on it I guess.

Depending on whether the boost 'hole' on the EGR removal pipe is suitable to the sensor I've got, I will probably do a bit of dremel work on the new inlet manifold (as it is the same as standard PD130/150). As my current inlet manifold has the boost sensor tapped into it (and is slightly leaky) it is worth doing a proper job here, and if the Allard pipe isnt suitable I'll get that tweaked to make it suitable instead. I want to avoid anything leaking hehe

Just wanted to say massive thanks to Stu, Bengie, Ross, Jason (devonutopia) and Basil in no particular order, without their encouragement and help by their input, time and skill, as well as Bengie for allowing me to have my cat-C on his drive for far longer than originally anticipated, I wouldn't be able to go ahead with this project

Many others have also given their time or input, just an example of how the site is great

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Not sure it is gravel as it isn't in the tread it's `in` the solid rubber.

Fair enough if it is gravel, but I figure better to ask than for me to have seen it then you have a blow out or something nasty.

How's the escort

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Will check that tyre

Escort is doing ok, new gaitor fitted + some welding done, today got to sand the repaired area a bit and rust seal it. Gonna do the other rear wheel arch too me thinks, might as well to get the whole thing back in reasonable shape so I can paint it in one hit, should look pretty decent then. Rear brakes need to be done, then back to MOT place I guess

Re: Skoda Fabia Estate 'vRS'

Just out of interest - how easy is it for you to get a proper weightbridge weight of the vehicle with only you in it?

Methinks it will be lighter than the official figures - minus 3 large Czech passengers and a full size spare.....
Will help in knowing the true power to weight ratio of this beast when all is said and done......

Was thinking about that myself actually. I see roadsigns for a 'Public Waybridge' now and again, including one locally. Just wonder whether you can just turn up?
