Am I right.......

.......in thinking that if I want my new Vrs Octavia to be switchable between stock (for service time) and two tuned modes (different octane levels) plus an anti theft mode that I need Revo select or do I need something else?

Also does the anti theft stop the engine starting altogether or just limits the revs?

Whatever I need what will it cost and is it advisable to put a certain amount of miles on the car first?

Many thanks

Adrian.

Re: Am I right.......

You will need a Select switch to do it yes.
I think you will need at least the Select 2 switch and then obviously the map ontop of it

As mattbeef says but the Select would be fine unless you wished to alter boost and or timing.

Re: Am I right.......

Adrian, we've just altered the design of the Select switch... it doesn't have two defaults anymore but one performance mode that the dealer can setup to suit your needs. The defaults often undid all the good setup work that our dealers did to cars!

Anti-theft: fueling and or load is limited depending on the ECU in question. So the car would start run at low rpm and not rev, or start run for a few seconds then cut out. Either way it can't be driven!

If, over time, I intend to use both grades of unleaded, Which should I be using when the default is set? If I get it "set up" using a higher grade fuel will it run alright in performance mode using normal unleaded?

Thanks for the input

Re: Am I right.......

For what you are trying to achieve then the Select Plus switch is the one you'd need. A straightforward Select Switch would not be able to give you the two modes for different fuels and it does'nt have Anti Theft feature either.

Select Switch £149 +VAT
Select Plus Switch £249 +VAT

Re: Am I right.......

Both switches have the anti-theft mode!

I'd try your hardest not to use both grades of fuel... 95ron isn't any better than horse p*ss
Having said that the performance setting can be set to a slightly lower default to account for the occassional lower quality fuel.
