These Octy 2.0TFSIs are looking more and more tempting by the day... just wish they were a bit cheaper
Tempting maybe, but you won't be getting anything near 39.9mpg............that is a fact.....No matter how carefully you drive, and given the latest hype on the fuel pump thingys, can't see anybody doing so either....

Steve, well done for reaching 285 bhp or so. It's just, I can't help but remember...

Times they are a changin'

In defence though, at the time of that post it was not possible to attain the figures you quote and frankly I did'nt think this pump would have such a profound effect on output, no one did! We are working closely with REVO to monitor various aspects of the car and a few adjustments have been necessary to keep within safe boundary's, but so far so good!

Fine, but there are one or two issues that need looking at such as fuelling and timing.
Truth is, StageII works perfectly well with the new pump but you do need to be careful not to go too agressive with Boost, Timing and Fuelling.

Watch ths space for future developments.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

WIth REVO you can use a Select Plus switch to change boost, timing and fuel. You can also turn the map off for when it visits the dealers.

Beaten to it by Mr Fish's flying fingers.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

The REVO select plus allows you to modify the settings for Boost/Fuel/Timing yourself.

So by varying the combinations of the above you can actually achive some quite noticable differences.

Also it doesn't always follow that for instance boost 9 (Maximum) is the best.

Edit - Jeez I missed that by miles, beaten by two of you!!

I don't think you saw any 'issues' until you had the Stage 2+ Beta installed. That was when the AFR went a little crazy, the Stage 2 public release code you ran on the RR day was ok wasn't it.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

I suppose the question has to be is where will stage II+ take you?
Is the magic 300bhp a possibility and if so how agressive would the boost/timing/fueling have to be?

If airing this in public is wrong then delete.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

Providing it's safe to do it and the engine won't go pop then I think it may be possible to break the 300bhp barrier but I for one wouldn't want to run it continuously as a less aggresive setting is far more managable and easier to live with.

It's a bit like a Chipped UK map, only 10 times better and 100 times more flexible!

Presumably at 285hp you will already be at +300bhp? Or have i got it wrong!

Just exactly where are you going with this Ken? You have a vested interest in this pump although have yet to have benefited fully from the advantages of it. All I'm suggesting is that there is possibly more to be had from the mapping with a Stage II car fitted with this pump. May I also remind you where this thread is posted!

I'm fairly sure the 285bhp figure is at the flywheel. If it was at the wheels then you could probably add 50ish and I don't think thats the case.

Re: Hi Volume Fuel Pump - 2.0TFSI

Please don't get personal in this thread. It is a useful record of the progress that is being made by REVO and Autotech.

I know there are differences in opinion with regards to mapping, there always will be. You pay your money and you take your chance, that's just how it is.

You two guys both know each other and frankly should know better than to engage in tit for tat squable
