IMO there is just a bit too much torque. It comes in very suddenly and its very hard not to make the wheels spin even in the dry.

Maybe a better set of tyres are required and a bit less aggression with the grin-inducing pedal on the right.

So which rollers do REVO use to power test their software? Might be worth finding out and someone putting their motor on it to see what they get. Do they still use Stealth?

I'm quite sure there has been a lot of discussion regarding these figures with Revo and a few people I know. I won't mention who to avoid introducing problems here

btw main reason I posted previous post was to let RevoKev know I don't think there are any particular 'hard feelings' regarding the map itself, more about that top bhp figure quoted.

Regarding the massive torque - surely you would enjoy a bit of torque there Harry, considering you had the Furb before

Oh the torque is awesome. But even if I drive very gently indeed the revs rise then boom - wheelspin as it all comes in at 2500RPM.

I find it quite annoying as I can't "boot it". The power has to be eased in.

What are other MK2 owner's thoughts on the Continental Sport Contact 2's? I think they're useless I just cannot get grip out of them.

You want a Quaife ATB plus whatever great tyres & suspension you can get.

IIRC JKM is doing a GB on Koni FSDs & Eibachs, I reckon that will help a fair bit too

I still cant boot it (no car ) but even with CC phase1 on mine with propane still on, I had to feed in fairly gently with the first 3 gears, and that's with Quaife & what I reckon were reasonable tyres

The Mk2 has a lot of power & torque at the wheels, and it's a fair jump upwards I suppose. Would you want it custom tweaked ?

Yep ...... they are useless on a vRS mate if driven in a spirited manner, doubly so if remaped

Nah I'm more than happy with how it goes, it's mental

Like you say I think an investment in "proper" tyres and a new suspension setup would help to get the power down.

Most custom tweaks (remaps?) on TFSi's involve opening up the ECU and messing with chips and stuff iirc, a custom map would be great, but revo is good old odb port remapping

Well just to throw my tuppence in, im stage two, and mine rr'd at awsome gti at 248 bhp. A long way short of the claimed 270+.

Harry - Tyres - Toyo T1R's. From my experience, the suspension does not need any alteration....or you risk spoiling the car. ARB's is all Ive done.

Thanks Dave. Heard several good reports on the Toyos. Used to have them on my Fabia for a short while and they were alrite.

I was impressed with the amount of grip your car has, especially in the wet. Quality.
