| It does depend a great deal on the car - I had GY GSD3s on my car and although good when plenty of thread left, the heavy lumped PD130 was too much for the sidewalls, even though they are reinforced, and it REALLY unsettled the car badly. Have a feeling the Octy (esp the 4x4 estate) leans a LOT less so you won't have that problem as much. Cant remember which tyres I got put on the fronts because I've not driven the car for so long though, IIRC they are Toyos but they could be Kumhos ![]()

| Right. I've just been on a run and thrashed the hell out of my car, or I've tried to should I say. It was bone dry. It is so frustrating to drive. Really annoying me now. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th if being brutal all equate to constant wheelspin. Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres SUCK. Even going fast around a large roundabout, the tyres give so early and makes the car slide sideways. There's just no grip whatsoever. Sorry about this off-topic rant, but why on earth do Skoda fit these cr@p tyres to their flagship model? ![]() Ordering some T1-Rs.

| Im stunned at your findings with them. I personally find them to be the best tyre ive ever used in the wet....and not bad in the dry. Just wondering if you have the right pressures in. Same car - similar power etc.....seems really odd. Anyway, where is Revo......Hiding?

| Well, not only have they ducked out of this thread, but not replied to my thread about the select switch. I can see us getting a wrap on the knuckles for annoying a sponsor ![]() |

| It might be they're just too busy - there are a lot of activities on a lot of different motoring sites at the moment. Give it a few days ![]()

| OT Star have got a Leon FR TFSi with (according to the Milltek site) with "The car was fitted with full Milltek turbo-back exhaust system in combination with custom GIAC software. As standard, the car has 197bhp and 206lb ft; with the exhaust and ECU upgrade, it was recorded with an astounding 291bhp and 316lb ft - that's a gain of 94bhp and 110lb ft of torque!!! " They have a good rep, I wonder if they did before and after runs as in our collective experience (and one of "us" has a Leon FR with more mods) 94bhp extra is a fairytale, whilst the torque does seem about right. Be nice to get some answers when business settles down for Revo, or at least some dialogue. |

| 291Bhp? Sounds suspect with just a TBE.

| Yes I saw that 291bhp figure on there website... It might be possible if they tweaked it for days and days trying to get that result, but a normal remap wouldnt get near that I would'nt of thought?

| Dynos seem to be the bain of our lives... fantastic tools, but there are so many variables. I know there are a couple of people on here that have seen higher figures at places other than JKM yet aren't happy because of the specific figures seen there... Dyno Dynamics RRs are fantastic tuning tools, in my experience (albeit limited) they are very good at repeating figures however I'm not convinced (as aren't alot of people) that they read 'accurate' one off outputs but then what dyno does?! Are we looking at wheel or flywheel figures? There's a danger with back-calculating flywheel figures from a chassis dyno. Stick with power at the wheels, it's more meaningful and fairly accurate so long as the ambient and intake temps are reasonable. Dyno Dynamics RR calculates force applied at the rollers, everything from there on is a mathematical equation and isn't neccessarily 100%. I'd expect to see around a 50bhp and 60ftlb increase from a 200bhp TFSI car (be it an Octavia, Leon or GTi... I believe the Leon is quoted low as stock) however these figures will vary depending on how/where they’re read. Personnally I don't believe in the whole quoting of peak figures... it's all pub talk and means very little on the road. Peak figures don't give you drivibility or even a true indication of increased performance, the increases in the midrange are what you will mostly use. Wouldn’t you all rather be out driving your cars than bickering over figures? Maybe we should leave all power claims off our website and quote an average percentage increase. I have seen the quoted figures and more on numerous cars at numerous different places, unfortunately I didn’t anticipate this discussion on here otherwise I’d have requested copies of all of the results I’d seen. |
