| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day So looking at the whp figures you are expecting a 40bhp loss from flywheel to the wheels?

| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day Again, a Stage 1 Revo Octavia vRS with no other performance modifications only made 228.3BHP. I spoke to the owner, and he is fairly happy with the 'on the road performance' (not amazed should I note) which at the end of the day is what matters, but none the less, the figure is not within an acceptable margin of the quoted figure and both my friend and I feel that for the rather pricey sum of ~£500 that you'd get a figure more within the region quoted.

| Briskodian | Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day One word springs to mind reading this whole thread..... ' Squirm ' Sorry RevoKev, but that's what you appear to be doing. I can't understand why your BHP claims are so much higher than Morego and, more to the point, Jabba. Especially when Jabba's claims are for a custom map not a generic one. I own a MKII Vrs myself and I'm at the point of splashing my cash for a remap - can't see myself heading in Revo's direction at the moment though - based on this thread, or more to the point your head in the sand denial approach + your higher costs. I've had two beetle 1.8t's mapped in the past, one by revo one by Jabba. At the time Revo claimed 212 bhp but the RR figure before and after didn't hold up. the Pre figure was around 170 bhp (150 bhp beetle) and the post was around 195 bhp. However, on the road the car was transformed and felt much quicker, the torque I guess.... so I just let it go. My second beetle, custom mapped by Jabba put out more power (around 210bhp) and was quicker with more progressive power. Being completely honest though, on the road the difference between the two was not significant. I'm not 'bigging up' Jabba here, I probably won't choose them this time because of the distances involved - the on road differences don't justify 6 hours worth of time or fuel ! but if they were around the corner that would be a different story. I feel your power claims are dishonest, not misguided, and I get that feeling because of the way you avoid the issues around consistancy raised in this thread. If you were genuinely kicking out 255 bhp compared to 'Moregos' 235 bhp then a £200 premium for and extra 20 bhp would be a bargain - but it's a pipedream! Jabba's claims of 240 BHP for a custom map seem realistic compared to Moregos 235 Bhp for a generic map, but Revo's figures are 'pub talk' with no consistant factual evidence to back them up. The sad thing is Kev, your map may well be the best on the market and may transform the standard car (bit like my first beetle) but this whole thread and your input into it doesn't show revo in a good light at all, leaving potential buyers like me with a dilema ![]() |

| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day Keep an eye on this thread as REVO have offered to take a couple of cars for 'testing' in the middle of this month so I feel it only fair to reserve judgement till then.

Fair enough, but I can't help feeling they should have an 'alternatively' tuned car there as a comparison on the day, ie if the revo cars put out 250bhp on revo's rollers what would a jabba or morego show ? sure you know where I'm coming from | |

| Briskodian | Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day Only just noticed this thread. My car is in need of its first variable service, indicator says 1000miles to go, but will get it done sooner and then stick it on fixed servicing. Anyway when its done I would be very happy to get my car rolling roaded with some other remapped Octy VRS mk2s, to see how my AMD remap compares to theirs on the same rolling road. ![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day This weekend is no unfortunately. Also I would preferably prefer a rolling road a little closer to home, (well less than 100miles from Northampton anyway.) |

| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day Let me make this clear, the REVO remap for the TFSI is absolutely first class with torque in abundance it absolutey transforms the car and will put a grin on you wider than Irish Sea, BUT the claim of 255bhp is NOT realistic, more like 235bhp but don't let that put you off buying it, you won't regret it!.

| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day We have spent a productive and interesting day with REVO but I am going to refrain from posting my thoughts for the moment mainly to give REVO the opportunity to evaluate the results and post their comments and observations first. I will say though that there are some interesting devolpments on the Stage II software which I'm dying to let on about but again for the above reasons will refrain from commenting on for the moment.

| Re: The JKM Rolling Road Day Just to add a note to Makefish's comment, there should be something coming from Revo shortly. Stage1 gave consistent results today, having being removed and reflashed, then tweaked slightly. All I can say for now is that the results where consistent on 2 different dyno's, the peak power was different, one wildly optimistic, but took a car without the code, ran it up, same car with the code, run it up and across 2 dynos the actual gains where the same near as damnit. more to come once people have compared notes and Nick has had time to evaluate the huge amount of logging info he has gathered from both the stage 1 and 2 cars today. I saw nothing today that would put me off opting for Revo1. |
