| Before the remap my Fabia vRS could reach ~130mph. (slowly but it got there) The car was remapped a few weeks ago and obviously I had to see whether the top speed had changed Ive tried twice and both times the car got to 125mph and the turbo turned itself off...im guessing to protect the engine. It does this also when I rev too high in 3rd and 4th sometimes. Its still accelerating when it happens so there is more to go.I rarely do these speeds but its a bit annoying having a car with more power and torque and a lower top speed Other remapped Fabias dont 'overboost' and cut off the turbo like this. Whats going on Revo? ![]() |

| I've had my car Revo'd and it has a higher top speed. Indicated on speedo is 142mph. Sounds like you have a problem somewhere, one of the techs on here will know more. Do you have any other mods on the car?

| Was it an acutal REVO remap or just the trial code? If trial code it reverts to a REVO verison of the OEM code and is apparently down on power.

| You cant get the trial remap on the TDI. I have a BF turbo back exhaust, bigger air intake and K&N panel... |

| I've read on here somewhere that a full system can affect the turbo as the gasses are released quicker. This makes the ecu go into limp mode at higher revs. You may have a similar problem? Maybe your Revo dealer can tweak the map at the higher revs?

| Oh right lol! So the exhaust I bought after being told would enhance the remap may actually be causing problems... Cheers for the advice. I'll pop in soon and ask some questions. |

| Too much boost, sounds like you're car went into Limp Mode to preserve the turbo and engine. Next jobby, is an FMIC too hold the boost! Thats the only way i can think off, otherwise i'm not sure if you're boost could be turned down, but THEN, you'd miss the power! |

| Over on TDIclub they say a "perfromance" exhaust systems can make the turbo's spin up too quickly resulting in a boost spike. Also heard the same over on SCN with CC. After having an exhaust fitted it began to go into limp mode. I trip back to CC sorted it.

| Plus your car will suffer without a FMIC on a top speed run... ive lost about 15mph top end since i got rid of my fmic

In regards to the lower top end power it sounds as though you're in need of a FMIC! ![]() | |

| Ok Edit* - It doesnt have low top end power, it gets to a certain speed (125mph) and the turbo cuts out completely. I have to restart the engine to get it back! So would a FMIC stop this? Last edited by Dave_Fox; 24-08-2006 at 17:27. |

| Indeed it would! Not only that, but you'd feel the powers completely across the rev-range. Also, be careful when re-starting the engine, as... The turbo is still .. boiling hot (as it is all of the time) .. Give it time to cool down before booting it again. |

| I presume so, but it will only lower the power, and you'll miss it then. I said at first, i wouldn't ever get a FMIC... Then i did ![]() |

| Instead of a FMIC, why not try the pikey mod where you put a vent behind the intercooler in arch? That's what Im going to do next.

| To be honest, it's not really going to have much of an affect, The air is still finding it difficult to get to the SMIC. |
