Replacement SPS 3 - Different??

My first SPS 3 didn't work so it was sent back to Revo for a replacement one to be sent out. Just received the new one and it appears that the position mode 3 and 4 are different than the other unit. This one has low boost at position 3 and high boost at position 4, the old unit had Boost at position 3 and fuel adjustment on position 4??

Re: Replacement SPS 3 - Different??

Sounds as though you've been sent an earlier version of the SPS3 that has a split boost range (they cover the same range as the one with a single boost range but have twice as many increments).

We stopped making SPS3's well over a year ago and offer a 12month warranty on them, I've just checked and as we had a 'new old' one lying about that we replaced yours with out of good will. Unless you're using it in an R32 where you have fuel adjustment then there's no effect on the functionality of it!

Boost adjustments:

Low boost 9 = Boost 6
High boost 9 = Boost 9

there are just a few more settings inbetween.

Sorry don't quite understand this bit?? So if I select Boost 9 on low boost setting will that actually give me setting 6??

What is the range on the high boost??

Re: Replacement SPS 3 - Different??

That's right, we talk about the boost range as '0-9' however the switch you have splits that range into low and high boost. It doesn't span a wider range, it just has more settings inbetween the maximum and minimum. Low boost 0 - High boost 9 is a continuous scale. So...

...if you look at Revo's boost range as 0-9 (6 being default).
Low boost 0-9 is equivalent to boost 0-6
High boost 0-9 is equivalent to boost 7-9 (spans less!)

Meaning you've now got more fine tuning adjustment.

Does that make sense?
