Revo Options

Hi all,

I like the idea of the map being switchable so Im pretty set on Revo.

Couple questions though, say I go for the 4 Bar setup, what would the advantage of having an SPS3 be over an SPS2? I appreciate Id have access to boost and ignition parameters, but is there much left to play with once your running a 4Bar map?

I assume with the SPS2, Id have effectively, tuned map or stock map available. Would I be able to get away with an SPS1?
Also, can I assume the car would use the same amount of fuel with the 4Bar FPR and the stock map as it would in completely stock mode?

Thanks and Rgds

Richie

An SPS3 will only give you boost and timing increases be it on a 3bar or 4bar map.

One thought I had with regards to an SPS3:

Lemmiwinks lets you adjust timing up or down but will only let you lower boost from a 100% value of what your requested boost is (set by the map).
Now if you had/borrowed an SPS3 and set the boost to max (HB9 or Boost9 on new SPS3) would you be able to use Lemmiwinks soley to adjust timing and boost as your 100% boost value would now be the maximum an SPS3 could give so just lower to suit?

Yeh I appreciate it its only the SPS3 which allows boost and timing alterations, is there much point in tweaking with them once the 4 bar map is loaded, surely it must be pretty optimised to begin with? I guess, it would allow a better adjustment to compensate for different fuels, but surely that could be achieved with an SPS2 also

Thanks for the reply

Rich

An SPS3 will give you more options over the SPS2 and not only fuel grade can affect timing but heat is also a major player.
You have to get a fine balance between timing and boost to get the best from your car.
I don't believe the map from the offset is optimum as everybodies mods are different to some degree, it has to be played with and logged with vagcom to get the most from it.
I ran with HB5 T7 with the spec I have minus my FMIC.

If you are going to buy an SPS, buy the 3. Yes the extra £50+ is worth it, the difference between 4bar LB9 and 4bar HB1/2/3 is noticable, as is the ignition tweeks to a lesser extent. You're probably talking +5 to 10 bhp and +5 to 10 lbft. Also, if you ever come to sell the SPS unit, the market for SPS2 is limited, everyone wants the SPS3.

I think the guys have covered the SPS options. In regards to 4bar FPR software, this is an older product line now. Our regular software will give you similar gains to the old 4bar fpr software, then the next step up would be stage 2 which is designed for an uprated exhaust, intake, 4bar fpr and preferable IC. This can be upgraded to at a later date though for just the price difference of £50 + vat

So am I right in thinking that if I dont intend to change the exhuast etc, Im as well off with the regular software? Would there be no point in that case fitting the 4Bar FPR?

Thanks and Rgds

Does this mean old Revo 4bar owners can get a free update? I know the Cupra boys are always clammering over upgrades to the latest versions of software.

The old 4 bar software was a free upgrade to the std software, the stage 2 kit is £50 more than the std software, so the answer is no.

Sorry I've not replied to this Rich.. been away quite alot of recent.
If you don't intend on changing any hardware then the regular software is the way to go.. if you end up putting a turbo back system on, intake and the like then you'd only pay the difference between Stg1 and Stg2 which is £50+vat. Even then I'd advise maximising the setup on regular software with an SPS3 prior to putting on stg2.

Hope this helps.
