| Revo questions I'd be grateful if any of the Revo guys could answer these (probably dumb) questions; 1. If I get the full version of Revo software loaded onto the ECU can I use an SPS device to change that code (eg if I bought an SPS device off someone) or do I need a specific version of the code for each SPS (1,2 or 3) configuration? 2. I can't get Optimax or 98 RON fuel in N.I. but I can get BP Ultimate (97 RON); can I use the 98 RON setting on an SPS device (if I had one) with BP Ultimate or would this cause problems?

| Briskodian | I don't know if this helps but see the post about the JBS Rolling Road day. James is a Revo agent and there's a phone number. Pick their brains without actually mentioning that you're 'overseas.' You may have to be a bit cagey with the first point though.

| IIRC if you had the SPS 3 you could ajust the settings specifically for ultimate.. people are beginning to prefer ultimate to optimax, as its more consistant.. heard several reports of optimax fuel "going off" and loosing its octane rating |

| Site Sponsor | Hi Rik, once you have software installed to your ECU you can use any switch that the software supports (nb. Diesel software only supports SPS1). So yes you could buy a 2nd hand switch, I've seen numerous SPS's on forums so you should be able to save yourself some money. I've monitored my own 1.8T with both Optimax and Ultimate, and yes you will have no problems with running the 98ron setting with Ultimate. I've also noticed that Optimax can 'go off' although 98% of the time (if you fill up at a larger garage where it's regularly changed) it is more efficient than Ultimate. |
