Are you guys looking at this engine yet ?

As it is now in the Audi TT perhaps it may be bit more high profile

Didn't realise the TT had this engine, not going to be a storming performer with standard 170bhp and 4wd I wouldn't have thought.

with a map and 4wd the torque alone should make it usable

From the audi uk website

The new 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel delivers dynamic thrust, with a power output of 125 kW (172PS) and 350 Nm of torque. Yet at the same time the TT Coupé consumes on average only around 5.3 litres of fuel per 100 km – a previously unequalled low figure in the sports car segment.

The new common rail injection system is equipped with state-of-the-art piezo injectors. Its eight-hole injectors can achieve up to five separate injection events every combustion cycle.
The 2.0 TDI in the Audi TT Coupé delivers 125 kW (172PS) at 4,200 rpm and sends a full 350 Nm of torque to the crankshaft at engine speeds between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. Operating quietly and generating little in the way of vibration, this model delivers a hefty amount of power from the lowest engine speeds, and is highly responsive to input from the accelerator pedal.

The superb power build-up of this engine lends it its own unique, fascinating character – that of a muscular, smart sports engine. The Audi TT Coupé 2.0 TDI quattro comfortably leaves its petrol-engine competitors behind in the mid-range spurt. It completes the sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph.

Don't get me wrong, I've got the same engine. I was just thinking that 4wd coupe with sporting pretensions needs more than 172bhp. Perhaps this is the perfect car for the remappers! The only thing stopping me from remapping my vRS TDi is the lack of grip, with 4wd it would be a no-brainer.

When did you get your new CR TDi - nice one ?

I'm hoping this engine will tune better than the PD tdi with the dpf

There is talk that an A3 sporting exists with this engine tuned to 211bhp still with the dpf

Oops, major gaff on my part, when I say I have the same engine, I was referring to the broadly similar nature of the engine (diesel and 170(ish)bhp). There are of course fairly big differences with the new common rail unit.

Ok mine don't arrive until 25th July so I have no knoledge yet

I sometimes work at a new glass plant at Ince nr Ellesmere Port
so look for me in your area blasting up the M56

Anyway back onto topic
