the 140 did dyno at 160 when it was stock but it still feels like a gti to drive and you've got lower insurace premiums and lower tax bands

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Where do you want me to start guys because I'm sick to the back teeth having this discussion with you boys and you do not learn!

If you look carefully at the curves shown in your press release there are the before and after outputs which, surprise surprise have 'stock figures' for the 1.4 TSI @ 163 bhp and for the 1.8 TFSI @ 187bhp, with similar increases in torque (let me guess, been on Stealth Rollers again have we? ) therefore the 'true' gain with the REVO software is in FACT +42 bhp for the 1.4 TSI and +33bhp for the 1.8 TFSI so the more realistic expected outputs will be 182bhp and 193bhp respectively!

Whilst I appreciate you have made gains in bhp and torque with both these powerplants it IS NO WHERE NEAR WHAT YOU CLAIM.

To say I'm hacked off having to cover old ground with you guys again is an understatement

Makes the new Superb with 1.4TSI look tempting at just over £15k list price!

Or a Leon Stylance at £13k on drive the deal with the same engine...

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

the dyno we ran the car on was a dyno dynamics, the centre was compleatly independant of revo and after multiple runs we found this to be a accurate figure.

We are very happy with the codes and the figures it's producing, as well as the drivability of the cars as they both feel awsome!

Carl, with all due respect, you are playing with fire mate as its ground that's been covered before and REVO (amongst others) are still playing the numbers game. It's about time that REVO and other tuning companies got their act together as this is now getting laughable.

You may well have seen those inflated figures on a Dyno Dynamics RR (which makes it worse!), but you have clearly shown the before figures too so please tell me where you get the GAIN from OEM figures to the ones you quote??????

You are playing with the numbers and you know it so stop trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the paying customer and quote expected GAINS not ludicrous figures like you have done again!

Aren't there 2 versions of the 1.4TSI, a low power and a high power? Was the one that read 163 one of the 170s in reality rather than the 140?

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Steve,

there is no need to ever get personal about this i haven't quoted any figures, i'm not out to deceive anyone nor do i ever intend to i'm merly doing my job, of helping people with a product.

REVO aren't out to make a quick buck of deceive anyone either we are simply going about our buisness in the best way possible and helping our customers and future customers.

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Personal!!!!, this aint personal just an observation in that REVO are misleading their customers with these claims - FACT!

Kev will know that I have defended and promoted REVO's product wherever it's been possible and I'll continue to do so as the work you guys do on these engines is first class but I refuse to sit here and see such blatant bull**** without making a comment.

Please please please just quote the expected gain from your software, that is not much to ask is it?

Steve, we're not trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes here...

Why would we claim to make 182bhp out of a car that stock tends to see well over the claimed figure. We're not attempting in anyway to claim that we're making the increase from 140bhp to over 200bhp, note that the figures listed at the top of the release refer to 'manufacturer claimed figures' and to refer to the dynos for further information!

The cars we have been tested on have all made over 200bhp on different dyno setups. We are trying to give an indication of the power output a customer would expect to see from a car which is above 182bhp on the 1.4tsi.

If we were trying to pull the wool over potential customers eyes and claim that a 140bhp car made over 200bhp, giving a 60bhp+ increase then we wouldn't include the stock power output... the reason it is there is to show the power/torque increase from the measured stock to the measured performance on the graphs.

As we all know different rolling roads will show variable results, regardless of the power output seen the gains are shown in the graphs on the release. If we'd seen standard cars making standard power then we'd have shown the results to suit, however all of the cars we've tested have shown well over standard figures!

Ignoring the peak figures look at the improvements in the midrange, the car is fantastic to drive...

We're more than willing to put it up against any other code you can find for these cars on a reputable dyno and more importantly the road!

VAG have nicely gone and confused everything with their names.

As it stands at the mo, I believe;

1.4TSI 140bhp & 170bhp are twincharger
1.4TSI 125bhp & 140bhp can also be just turbo charged, with the confusion being around the 140bhp engine

Just to clarify the car does make over 200bhp, but it isn't a 46% increase... maybe over the factory 'quoted' standard figure but that's not a true indication. The car from the factory will make more power than they quote!
