You seem to be dodging any references to the 170 bhp version. What does that map to? And what do they put out as tested on the dyno.

Nope its the same 1.4 unit in the A3 which is defo a single turbo jobby as per my argument with York Audi when I lifted the bonnet on their demo.

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Yep the 1.4 125ps is a single turbocharger, we have the engine in the MK5 Golf now...

Everything charged and petrol is now badged TSi, TFSI has been phased out and replaced with a new 2.0 TSi with a timing chain.

I think I read the Germans have the 1.4 TSi over 300bhp now. Although probably more than software.

Blimey, that's some increase! This is all looking very interesting

What turbo does the non-twincharge 1.4TSi run as std Ross?

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

To put another slant on the 'power' increases, even quoting an increase figure is deceptive as those figures would normally be taken from the peak numbers which wouldn't give a true indication of the performance increase.

On the 1.8TFSI the largest increase is actually seen lower down the rev range, whereas on the 1.4tsi the largest increase is higher up the rev range. Both engines have different driving characturistics, both are great to drive though!

The attached graphs give you a true indication of the increases over stock (both as hp and as a %) against rpm. The numbers on these graphs are taken from the point with the largest increases over standard. The graphs overall show you the increases throughout the rev range.

Something that's often overlooked is reading too much into quoted/dyno figures as it's more than often the area under the curve that's the most important at least it should be as that's what makes the difference to the cars drivibility! Unless of course we were all sat in a pub over a beer bragging about who has the biggest, best, most...

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

A very healthy increase there Kev. Do you have any initial indications as to whether much more is available from these engines?

As a matter of interest which Dyno did you use?

The 1.8tfsi looks as though it will be very good!
Most of the testing was done using Dyno Dynamics setups!

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Kev many thanks for those two graphs, they give a much better and 'truer' indication as to the expected increases from your software

I do hope that REVO continue to use this method in future and hopefully the rest of the industry will follow your lead in showing it's improvements in this way.

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Hi there, I am wondering when is the Revo modification for Golf GT 170 going to be ready?
So, the Revo software for the TSI 140 cannot be used for the GT 170? I thought they are both the TSI Twincharger engine, so pretty much similar.
Furthermore, the Revo modification for TSI 140 can make the power to about 205hp. Do you think the Revo modification for the GT 170 would make it even higher than 205hp?

Where are you based? If you arrange to visit your local dealer they can check the ECU ID in the car and put a request in for it, if you're local to us then drop us a line and come in sometime!

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

This is an exciting post for me to read, mainly because I live in Australia and we have some revoteknik dealers here! I have the 2007 Australian released 1.8 TSI Octavia, is this the same motor you refer to as the 1.8 TFSI? If it is I will start saving my coin for the software upgrade....

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Hi right back Kev,

Advanced Motorsport Tuning in South Australia. Bit of a roadtrip for me coming from Western Australia. Well, the missus and kids have been onto me to do a long drive with them. Could be a good excuse for me, hehe. Is my motor the same as the one you mention in this thread Kev?

Re: TSi and TFSi(1.8t) software launched!!!

Hi Revo,

Do you mean the Revo modification for the Golf GT 170 ECU is ready now? How much power increase would it bring? Higher than 205hp, right?
I am located in China, I think there are some Revo local dealers around actually. Do they have the skill to do the Revo modification on the TSI engine now?
