| Anyone work in Occupational Health? Hi guys!!!This confounded credit crunch has made me do some thinking as to what career I would like to do. One possible career I really would like to work in, is Occupational Health. I was wondering if anyone on here works in that field and can give me their honest opinion about working in that field and how to get into it. Muchos gracias!! |

| Re: Anyone work in Occupational Health? My sister is an OT and has been for about 4 or 5 years now. It was hard work for her at uni! Whilst all her mates doing other degrees had time off she didn't. She loves her work but it is hard and very demanding I do think you need to want to work with people rather than want it as a career as you work in mental health as well as with old folk head trauma and suchlike. Apparently home visits can be a bit dangerous too lol.

| Re: Anyone work in Occupational Health? Buster, what exactly do you want to do, Occupational health is totally different to what monkey child has described. What monkey child has described is an Occupational Therapist and this is a totally different field. OC's are the people who interview you to make sure you are fit to do a new job or that you are fit to return to your present job etc. If you are really interested in a career in any of the health care genres, than i think your first port of call should be your local college or university to find out what, if any, qualifications you need. |
