| Go Gadget Octy! | Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... Day before our Anniversary! 6 years this year. We did ours on a quite low budget thanks to friends of family/friends. Photographer and video were nil cost, DJ mates rates etc etc. Even the flowers came via a friend who runs a shop selling bunches of flowers which they make up themselves alongside their other items. All I can advise is dont get carried away, and beware of people seeing £££'s because you've mentioned 'wedding'. A cake isnt £600+ ![]() |

| Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... Yup! Awesome day, though! What's scary is that that's supposedly less than the average! ![]() Although we did cut some costs, like making our own invites and orders of service - it's amazing what you can do with stuff from Hobbycraft, a bargain-basement inkjet printer and a buckshee copy of PhotoDraw!

| Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... To keep the costs and the hype down I would stay away from actual wedding retailers as much as possible. Try Monsoon's wedding dress range (website is good) they also do shoes or you could get a nice pair of shoes from a normal shoe shop. A friend did our photos which was much better all round as he was their as a guest aswell so photographed from beginning to end. Everything was so much more relaxed with him doing it too. Find a friend with a nice car or who knows someone with a nice car to use as your transport. Get your make up done at a make up counter on the day. M&S do wedding cakes aswell as Waitrose, although my chocolate cake from Waitrose did cost a few hundred quid it was still cheaper than a wedding cake maker. Invest in the things that will last such as rings. Try and remain focused on the fact that you two are marrying each other and it's noone else choices but your own, it's not about impressing anyone but about having a great day with the people you care about. That's what will make the memories. Try not to get stressed, you have loads of time before next april and if you let it get to you, you will be quivering wrecks by the time the day comes around ![]()

Thanks. I think I will have a look at Monsoon for dresses. I have looked and tried on dresses in TK Max but waiting till early next year to buy in case I put on weight. Shoes- I have a pair of nice golden coloured shoes that I have worn once and keeping good for the wedding. As for cars we thinking of using some skodas so of the Scottish members might be drivers. As for the day I think I will be very nervous as I quite shy in front of large amount of people. | |

| Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... That would be good big bro. I do like the high seats in your car. I was just imaging the night as you drove us to pottobello me sitting in the back of your car in my wedding dress with my dad on the way to the church. |

| Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... Definately. But being honest. It would be nice if your own car was the wedding car, rather than mine. But if you wanted mine then i dont mind. But i'd still drive it for you. (sensibly) |

| Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning.... How about an old old Skoda. You see people turning up to wedding in old car for example a morris traveler so why not a well kept old skoda. Sure we could find one. |
