Really, I'll have an ask as the prices I remember hearing are more like £400 upwards.

Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning....

If you want to make the wedding a bit more memorable for you and your guests for only a minimal outlay, get some dancing lessons for your first dance - unless of course you can dance already!

Most first dance songs will match one of the slow dance styles and it'll be more fun for you and look much more spectacular to your guests than the usual fanny-dancing. I think we had two one-hour lessons (and plenty of practice), which cost about £30 in total!

I can't dance either, but with lessons it's monkey-see monkey-do which makes it a lot easier!

Also, when picking the first song, listen carefully to the lyrics!! Lots of supposed "love songs" are actually about couples breaking up etc.

Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning....

If you can stretch the budget a bit get a videographer or a friend with a decent camera to record the day. I got married 6 weeks ago and yeah the photos are great but they don't capture the emotion etc. It's something you can look back on for the rest of your lives and you'll never forget any small detail of the day. If the wife gets even the slightest bit angry, i just pop the DVD on and she's all gooey again within minutes...It's great, shuts her up instantly!!! Good luck

By that time of day you should be well and truly used to being in the spot light. If your brother is that much of a **** and it's causing you to stress about it, then don't invite him.

Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning....

Seriously though you guys, have you actually tried living without using briskoda as a personal communication tool? I mean you talk in third person on here FFS.

If you two are serious, you must actually realise that as the years go on this sort of thing isn't going to happen and you will have to spend time apart without it. In that case picking up the phone is the only option.

I'd seriously give it a go before you get married, because if you realise it wasn't the right thing then it's a very very expensive thing to get out of and one or both of you will feel like you've been done.

Re: Arrrghh! Wedding Planning....

Let me get this straight. We are not using the site to communcate intenanally and if we want to communicate we do that in our own time.
Yesterday I was just quoting Skodaboy as part of the topic that was not us communicating. It was a general quote like quoting another member nothing else!!
There are plenty of other couples using Briskoda too and I'm sure they quote each other too.

I think you need to read what I wrote and see what I'm saying.

You're both young and you both need to be 100% sure this is what you want. I'm not saying you are not in love, but you really really need to take a step back and look at things.

Seriously, taking some time apart never hurt anyone who is truly in love. Sure if they are out of the country for 8-12 weeks you miss them and you chat to them every so often due to call costs etc, however if you really love them the feelings won't change.

IMHO and I bet not just mine, you two are charging head first into things without taking a step back first.

If it were me, I'd be getting myself stable and working out what I am going to do before I got married. For example, if you get a career you love you will change as a person, it's something you have to think about. That of course is my view and you two are obviously entitled to say I'm talking carp.

EDIT: The third person couple communication tool comment applies to all.

The man speaks sense.

I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 17.

We spent alot of time togther and went through a hell of a lot together and got married. We both then changed career and despite everything we had we split up after 7 years as things became really unstable.

We're still friends but we settled down way to soon and I think we were way more mature than either of you two.

I personally think you'd be better off sorting your careers out and living together for a couple of years before comitting to marriage - what is the hurry or is it because of religious views/parental pressure.

If you really love each other marriage can wait.
