Beaconsfield Miners

I was listening to the Foo Fighters new album tonight which has an intsrumental track on it called "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners"

I thought I'd Google it as it seemed quite a strange track. Aparently two miners were trapped in a Tasmanian mine collapse for two weeks. Rescuers managed to drill a small hole through to them and they asked for an MP3 player with Foo Fighters music on it to get them through the turmoil. Dave Grohl heard about their plight and sent messages of encouragement to them then he wrote this song in their honour.

So, it's settled then - you two 'alternatives' are meeting up in Canada, very soon

I sense a love affair in the making - kindred spirits and all that
