Re: Becoming An Observer

Go for it - I don't know of any groups who are complaining that they have too many observers.

it's a challenge and of course you're even more nervous when being assessed for this as you were when you took the adv test because you're supposed to be advanced standard and had time to practice!!

Re: Becoming An Observer

I know a couple of people from another site who have made the step after qualifying and both think it's worthwhile. I also think that Tom_vrs on here may have also done it

Something I'm tempted to do if I can ever find any spare time

How about cutting down on your daily Briskoda intake? Should free up loads of time.

Re: Becoming An Observer

Go for it!

At the very least you'll be forced to keep up your present standard of driving, and at best you will be able to improve the driving standards of many others.

There weren't many local groups when I took the IAM test back in 1972, so I never really got involved in the "group" culture. It's a pity really; I'd like to get involved in training new drivers (either IAM or - preferably - ROaDAR), but recently I haven't the time or opportunity.
