I had a "power bmx" all in white - until I left it lying down behind my Dad's car and he reversed right over it.

I had a Raleigh Scorcher, my brother had a Striker with pedal back rear brake, his rear tyre only ever lasted a couple of months

Re: Bikes from the 70's & 80's

I thought the Chopper was only available in yellow, red(ish), purple (later) and lastly black towards the end of its life.

I always wanted an Eddy Mercx racing bike, but ended up with a Peugeot racing bike which was much better. All my mates had Raliegh Arena's or Kalkhoff racing bikes.

Re: Bikes from the 70's & 80's

I lusted after Marin mountain bikes from a very early age. Was lucky enough to get a palisades one at the age of about 11, then I got a Rocky Ridge when I was about 14. That rocky ridge was hell of a bike with a nice 7005 alloy frame (looked phat )
