This can't be right???...T mobile

Don't use my mobile much so want to change to PAYG when contract expires in Sept. This is the reply.

I could just walk into a shop and by a Sim card can't I so why do they say this?

"Hello Laurence

Thanks for your further email about changing to pay as you go when your contract expires on 14 Sept 2006..

I'm sorry to say that we're no longer offering our customers the option to change to pay as you go.

But we do have other price plans that might work for you. For example, with U-Fix you get the benefits of a monthly pay plan without the worry of running up high bills. You just choose one of our price plans, and once you've used your inclusive minutes you pay for extra calls with top-ups or by credit or debit card.

If you'd like to know more about this, please look at http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/u-fix. Or call us on 150 from your T-Mobile phone or on 0845 412 5000 from a landline (charged at local rates). we're here Monday to Sunday from 7am to 10pm.

Thanks for taking the time to contact me Laurence, and I hope you find this information useful.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to reply to this email or contact us through our website.

Kind regards"

You could just say you want to leave t-mobile, I did as I didn't use the mobile as much (got a better contact else where). They offered me the U-fix it deal which was a great one.

Play ball with them and see how it goes, I've got 300 minutes talk time + 30 texts for £2.50 a month.*

*You may not get this deal

Simple , port the number to another network's pay as you go , then port it back to t-mobile on pay as you go

You can leave T- mobile, go to another PAYG network and you can also take you number with you..............T-mobile might say you cannot take your number, But you Can

Re: This can't be right???...T mobile

I had the same issue - went for a Virgin PAYG, because I believe they use the T-mobile network, which seemed to prevent any handset locking issues.
Then I got the porting code from T-mobile, and transferred this onto the Virgin system.
Still don't understand why it had to be so difficult though.
I also recollect some pretty good deals being offered by T-Mobile, but you have to get almost to the point of no return (ie contract has expired and you ring to ask for the PAC code for porting) before you get them. Try again in September.

You don't even need to use another network - just get the PAC code and a T-Mobile PAYG SIM. This is what O2 wanted me to do when I switched to PAYG...unfortunately, they didn't bother telling me this until after they'd cut my phone off rather than simply switching it to PAYG...
