I saw this on the news and it looked like the inclement weather wasn't necessarily to blame? Just sounds like a real nasty occasion of lots of crashes with bad outcomes.

H. Mackerel. Seemingly most were within "normal" hours as well.

I did a pickup in the early hours last night and luckily had to contend only with tailgaters rather than those and icy roads We all arrived home safely - it's horrible to think that some don't.

The Crieff crash wasn't, AFAIK, weather related. I know the road concerned and it's a fast one. The location of the crash is, IIRC, signposted with "Blind summit" signs.

The driver of the Corsa was a guy of about 20, his passengers 2 teenage girls, according to reports. The police are citing speed as a factor.

We were up in Creif between Xmas and New Year, some of the roads were a bit tasty then and that was without any snow or heavy ice.

I read most of the relevant articles; AFAICS it's journalists trying to make a story out of nothing again; no common factors between these shunts except that they all happened over a single weekend.
