Angry Cats Eyes on the M25 - where are they ?

The south east section of the M25 is a national disgrace ! Not only is it the only section of Europe's busiest motorway that remains unit at night but the white ining is so poor as to be virtually invisible at times.

Of particular note is the exit to the A21 going clockwise, the exit white lining has long since been scrubbed off and it can only be a matter of time before some one misjudges and hits the embankment and rolls.

Things are even worse when its been raining as from the Dartford tunnel round virtually to the A22, the M25 is reduced to one large black abyss. Over much of this section even the edged marking cats eyes are missing too.

We are constantly being told by 'New' Labour that we are the fourth richest country on the planet but it seems we can't even afford a few decent cats eyes and white lines for our most important roads. What in heavens name does TB think this says to visitors from the Continent who have freshly arrived on the ferries of the tunnel ?

Despite emailing over a year ago and complaining in person to the Highways Agency absolutely nothing has been done.

WHAT ON EARTH DO THESE PEOPLE DO EXCEPT SIT ON THEIR FAT BEHINDS AND DRAW LARGE SALARIES THAT WE THE TAX PAYER ARE MUG ENOUGH T GIVE THEM !

On the positive side though, your rarely going fast enough on the M25 to worry too much!

I use that part of the M25 and it is rubbish, a veritable death trap in the rain.

The south/south-west section is also a national disgrace, the concrete sections are a joke and the widened section near Heathrow suffers badly with standing water and spray.

Just take a look at European motorways

Generally I agree, but unless things have changed, they don't have cats-eyes. I remember driving in the dark in torrential rain near Frankfurt a few years ago and wondering why it was such hard work. No cats-eyes.

Driving back from Somerset one evening a week or so back, I was amazed at how few cats eyes were working on the winding A36 which made following where the road was going pretty difficult at times. The rain didn't help either

No catseyes at all in europe. For bad roads, try Belgium. The entire E40 from Brussels to Liege in particular is so bad, they have had to roughen up the surface as it was so badly worn. Result for nearly 100 miles a constant loud roar from your tyres.
