Personaly I loved the 70's, beer 18p a pint, Petrol I think was 20p a gallon, I was earning £514 a year
But those were the days when Draughtsmen were Draughtsmen & the secretaries were glad of it

I wasnt really aware of it much at the time, just doing an apprentiship & having fun but I can remember the grim times of the mid 70's followed by rapid rises in house prices. I guess the actual figures are somewhere on the net

They are but I'm supposed to be working and don't have time to look for them

From memory, the were at least double what they are today and at tiem 3 or 4 times higher. In a high inflation period its good to load up on debt and inflate it away. Today the signs don't look so good. Those debts are bigger for longer.

ditto credit was unleashed/deregulated in the early 70s. Barber Act or something, allowing the credits bubble to form so easily.

Bubbles: South Seas, Tulips, 20s stocks, Dot com and this time its Housing.

If I had access to Youtube, I'd look for "I'm Turning Japanese". What's to stop what happened to the Japanese happening to us?

Yep things look to be recovering just fine, perfect for that 25% rise discussed
