Anyone seen these?

Hotta (UK LTD) Introducing Boiling Point Instant Boiling Water

I saw one fitted on "DIY SOS" a few weeks back and it looks great....... whats the snag?

We woul dprobably have it on a timer so that it was ready for action when we get up and switched off during the working day and at night.

Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

We have simular setups around work, so we can all make tea. Ours are plugged into a conventional wall sockets. They are on all day, not on timers and just maintain the temprature.

Ours are wall mounted. They are a good idea and work great at work.

Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

how is that different to a small burco type boiler except for the descaler bit of it?

to me it just looks like an automated water heater and nothing overly special.

Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

I'm looking for something that looks nice and is not taking up worktop space. I agree it is just a water heater but placed next to a small half sink would be great - no?

Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

What are these heaters like for energy usage, compared to just the random boiling of a kettle? I imagine for high usage, a heater might be a good idea. A decent combi boiler will provide damn hot water pretty much on demand too. We use a kettle at work as it's not economical to keep 4 litres+ of water at 100 degC, when the kettle probably only boils 1 litre of water every hour or so.

If I were in this boat, I think I would opt for a decent combi boiler to have reliable hot water for the whole house, heating and taps, than just a single utility. Filling up the kettle using the hot water from the tap might save energy a bit too - trade off between electric to boil from cold, and gas/elec/oil to keep the boiler hot.

Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

We already have a combi boiler, brand new and does its job very well.

However, would you really want water hot enough to make a good cuppa available to wash your (or a child's) hands with ?

I agree that a kettle may well be more practicle but this thing would be a great toy to show people at parties and also for the benefit of potential buyers

Smile Re: DIY - Instant hot water for the kitchen

Hi Guys

I am biased as this is my company so i will leave you to make your own judgements here are a few facts anyway

We have been developing this product for 13 (yes thirteen) years and have now got a reliable and great product.

So why do you want one ??

With a burko it will need manually filling, warm up period, regular maintenance (descaling), and more often than not it will send your roof mouldy

with a wall mounted unit you have large obtrusive unit on your wall (not ideal in a home)

These often go wrong I talk from experience taps leaking scaled etc

Don't they get hot as well???

Boiling POINT

Always there when its needed

DIY Plumbed in so no filling

comes complete with a water filter to remove those nasty pesticides chlorine etc,

Your work top is free from a large boiler

Boiling POINT never dispenses cold water

In a small office with 4 people the electricity costs are the same as a kettle but you save on water as you only use what you need

If you use the Boiling POINT to fill the sink while the water from your boiler is travelling down the pipes you heat less water in your boiler and loose a lot less temp through all of those copper pipes.

DIY fit no plumbing experience needed. We use a excellent gadget called a opella valve that pierces the copper cold water pipe. Then push fits through to the unit takes around 20mins. Plugs into a 13 amp socket

No vents needed as it has a built in condenser.

Regarding safety we recommend that the tap be fitted in the far corner away from the small hands

If the worse did happen and you or your child accidentally scalded themselves with a kettle it will not stop pouring. Boiling POINT stops as soon as the buttons are released

The boiler is cold to the touch as is the tap and is stored neatly under the sink it can also be wall mounted

Taps are available with dual safety switches which have to be pressed at the same time

A kettle full of boiling water if it tips then all of its contents spill.

cost wise check out a product called Quooker or ZIP hydrotap you will see a price tag of over £550 or £1000 and a bill from the plumber...!!!

I could go on for hours

Anyway if it is for you then great but if not then not to worry

If you do want more info then please give me a call

0800 731 9134

Kind Regards

Benn

I like the sound and look of that but it does seem a bit pricey.

How about a Goup Buy???
