Chezemonkhai - And that's what she will be doing in three weeks, I was getting a bit fed up of hearing all the problems at home that we went to look at a nice wee house to rent tonight, house was spot, nice garden with plenty of space for our stuff, we could afford it so went ahead and done the deal, we move in in about three weeks time Davy

Sounds like a good deal. Don't want to scaremonger, but make sure you don't forget that you have the deposits, water meter/rates, council tax, gas, leccy, phone, internet etc. It will probably hit around £300 a month for the house these days ![]() Anyway good luck with it all ![]()

| Re: Does anyone find there parents don't understand Although many problems can be solved by having your own space aswell as relationships taking a turn for the better, please don't expect this to be a magic wand. It really depends on what the root cause is, if the relationship is able to move on when you are no longer living under their roof. At least with your own space you can say enough is enough, I can walk out of your door and walk into my own house now, goodbye. Good luck with the move.

| Re: Does anyone find there parents don't understand I don't think it will solve all the problems at home, sure her mum will think of something else to get her to feel down but I think her mum has too many problems and just wanting someone to vent her anger on and Skodagirl is the first choice for her.

| Re: Does anyone find there parents don't understand You don't have to react, just be civil and get on with what you are doing. What's the worst that can happen? Honestly, she can't kill you. All she has is words that you will no longer have to listen to should you choose not to.

| Re: Does anyone find there parents don't understand I've got to admit in regards to my parents I never really got on well with my mum when I was younger and at one point I was referred to a behaviour councillor at the hospital, I think over the years I upset quite badly and stirred her up and if was having problems at school they never seemed to care as such, in the end you find and work it for yourself. Got to admit now through I get on quite well with my parents compared to say a few years ago.

| Briskodian | Re: Does anyone find there parents don't understand I think i am one of the lucky ones,i moved out at 16,and my parents have stuck with me and supported me trough thick and thin,we don't allways see eye to eye,but they support me even if i am wrong, which i have been allot in the past. I think moving out can bring you closer.

Very true that Gary. I think everyone gets to a point where they have to move on, and will be different of each individual. I've always got on great with my parents but probably better now, although the imminent arrival of their first grandchild might have something to do with it. ![]()
