| Ebay hints and tips wanted. Right, maybe one for J this! ![]() Got quite a few bits I want to put on ebay, can anyone offer advise on: Whens the best time to set up an auction to get the best amount of bids? i.e. is Friday evening a good time for it to end etc. What really helps get the best price? Links to product info? Actual photos etc. Any general advice much appreciated. ![]()

| Re: Ebay hints and tips wanted. best thing is to time your auction to end when folks are likely to be home - something that ends on a Sunday evening (say between 7 and 9) is more likely to get late bids on it than something that ends at 10:30 on Wednesday morning! As for getting the right price.... always include at least one photo, give as much detail as you can, answer any questions as soon as you can, and don't over-egg the postage costs! It helps if you already have good feedback too.... Oh - and make sure you do your research first.... hunt out similar items on ebay (current and completed) and see what they say, and how much they went for / are going for ![]() Other than that - keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best!

| Re: Ebay hints and tips wanted. Depends on what your selling? Phones/watches...your always going to get the scammers trying it on I would say at the moment it's good to sell as you can use the postal strike to your advantage and make sure any paypal payment is ok before sending ![]() I don't bother about times anymore when selling as I think if someone wants what your selling they will bid! Set a reserve if you want to make sure you get a good amount or it could go for peanuts. Check E-Bay for items your selling to get rough sale prices ![]() Good luck

| Briskodian | Re: Ebay hints and tips wanted. My son sold something on Amazon which apparently didn't arrive (who knows?), so had to refund, plus lose postage paid. Might be worth sending via a postal service which has compensation if lost in transit. (Dunno what ebay rules are.) Mo |

| Re: Ebay hints and tips wanted. *Always* send something by an insured postage method , and ideally signed for as well. Don't write your description like this. 1987 KAWASAKI gpz600 low reserve RED & WHITE - eBay Kawasaki, Motorcycles Scooters, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 18-Oct-07 21:06:56 BST)

| Re: Ebay hints and tips wanted. Can't help on the selling, but from a buyer's point of view I like to have all the info nice and clearly available, well laid out so that there's not pages and pages of it to scroll through and with (decent sized) pictures of what you're selling. Honesty is also appreciated, eg if items are marked/damaged then I'd not want that hidden. P&P cost (or collection) should also be clear, and you might want a disclaimer about only accepting UK bids from people with 100% feedback. Finishing bidding during the day works well for me too. If you really want to make money you can just sell photos of the items you're selling, specifically if they're valuable items ![]() Chris
