Electric heating

Currently looking to replace the aging and incredibly inneficient electric heating in my house. I've done some reading up, and it looks like oil-filled radiators are what I need and after doing some measuring and calculating, I reckon I need a 3kw one for the lounge and 1kw ones for the dining room, spare room and bedroom. However, I can't find any wall-mountable 3kw oil-filled radiators anywhere! Anyone have any pointers/links?

Thanks!

Chris

How about self contained water filled/pumped rads...

A rad just like a standard central heating rad without the running costs or ugliness or oil filled.

Delonghi also do oil filled rads.

Probably costs a bomb but I noticed massive fuel savings when the c/h was converted from a calor gas system to an oil fired combi boiler with new rads in each room. Oil fired boilers seem to bun a lot more efficiently than most, and with large parts of rural Devon not on gas mains, its a handy source for central heating fuel.

Not sure on using storage heaters though, as they're not so flexible with the timing - but at least they only charge up on the cheap power from midnight onwards.

Thanks for the pointers guys. Looked at Delonghi but they don't appear to do the 3kw in wall mountable form. The other two look promising though

I bet your oil fired combi was pricey!

To utilise cheap electricity at night you need to have an economy 7 electricity meter.

We have a gas fired bolier that heats both the water in the hot water tank and also heats the house via radiators. Its 23 years old and still going strong.
