Basicly we are getting phoned at all hours day and night by a fax, we must be on someones mailing list. When I 1471 the number it gives me the Fax number but no one answers it as it's a fax. Is there anyway I can find out who's sending the faxes so I can ring them asking them to stop. I have contacted BT and we are on there Telephone Preference Service but all I get is "We'll send you a Complaints form, fill it out and send it Back ". Anyone in the Know please feel free to PM me................Thanks Andy..

Try a Google on the fax number. If it's a business it will probably be listed along with a landline number.

You could try sticking the number into google. I've tracked a couple that way.

There is a fax preference service too but the website seems to be down right now.

You could send a fax to the number requesting that you be removed from their marketing database and that you no longer want any sales calls.

If they are a UK company the failure to comply with the former is a breach of the data protection act. You could also threaten to take them to OFCOM for the latter Contacting Ofcom | Ofcom
