Re: Free Broadband

Dont forget to add the the line rental fee, another £10 in addition to the call package fee, and remember there are download limits too!

Not as cheap as it first appears as you must switch from BT to TalkTalk but it's still a good deal, must remember to ask one of the door to door sales people what the real catch is next time I see them (pick them up in me cab quite often).

Re: Free Broadband

Ive actually found its cheaper to use Talk-Talk for phone calls + line rental, and then go else where for b/band... Talk-Talk is OK for the most limited users only...

Re: Free Broadband

They guarantee to be cheaper than BT and they are for phone calls and line rental ....if they are not cheaper they will give you £1000 ...they haven't paid out anything yet ......I know my bills are cheaper, but at the moment as far as BB is concerned I am locked into a year long contract with someone else .......the limit is 40Gb per month download

Re: Free Broadband

It works out at £20.99 per month (+ one off connection fee £29.99) including unlimited landline calls to uk and 28 other countries, there is a time limit on the calls, you must hang up and re-dial before 1 hour to avoid the call charges.

Up to 8meg Broadband with 40gb limit is free of charge with this call package, fair usage policys apply.

Here is the link to there website -

THe package I belive is 50:1, which is standard.

However the free bit is dependant on location as not all exchanges will be unbundled. If your not in one such location it will cost a tenner PM. It is also an 18 month contract.

Either way you look at it though it is a solid deal. I just hope the new Cape Town call centre is up to scratch...

Re: Free Broadband

I put my phone number in on their website and I'm not covered by their deal.

It's NOT such a good deal when you add the extra £10 per month on top.

A few poeple at work have put their numbers in, as yet, no one can get the good deal?

Re: Free Broadband

Question.

I'm with NTL right now.
If i switch to BT can i take advantage of this? I'm pretty sure BT insist on a min 12 month contract when i reconnect. Does that mean i couldnt switch to Talk Talk until the 12 months are up?

Re: Free Broadband

What about the contention on their network. THe DSL line might be 50:1 in the exhange but when you get onto their network eg off the LLU network and into their core network, then i would be certain that it is contended too.

Re: Free Broadband

I'm paying £11 a month to BT for line rental, and £25 a month to Virgin for broadband (20Gb download limit). Offer makes sense to me

Re: Free Broadband

I'm with Talk Talk for Phone Calls anyway and they are great but be careful with Line Rental as they are more expensive than BT. That is if you have any additional services like Caller ID which is free with BT but TT Charge you extra for it.

I'm still debating Broadband from them as very happy with PlusNet for £19.49/Month no contract and 10GB Download a month on 20:1 Contention.

Also with a free 8Mbit upgrade (where exchanges allow!) and possibly 16-24Mbit when they move to new LLU partners the service still sounds excellent value, although it will just mean I hit my download limit quicker each month

Re: Free Broadband

True, the problem I have is that I can only get 1MB from the local exchange. However it is being upgraded at present as part of the LLU Partner Service for which Plus Net are proposing putting me on at no extra charge and up to 24MB Speeds, so I will wait and see.

Thought there was a long waiting list for TT Broadband Anyway?

Caller ID with BT - Quarterly rental £5.25 (ex. VAT) - no minimum rental term, no connection charge. Thats £1.75 a month!

Re: Free Broadband

Erm Caller ID is free in our BT package and it's not a special one.

ScoobyChris, if they LLU you I doubt you would get any faster speeds as it would still be comming down the same copper, so you wuold have same noise and line length so you would get no more over ADSL and almost nothing (if anything) more on ADSL2/2+.

Re: Free Broadband

Caller ID is not free with BT.

But BT Privacy IS free, and it includes free caller ID.

Stupid BT logic to avoid giving Caller ID for free to all those who are already paying for it, methinks.
