Hi,

I had an e-mail to say my Freedom was about to come to an end, so i signed up for a further 2 years at £20 but i'm now in the blue and not green.

Could anyone shed any light as to why this has happened please??

You didn't pay via echeque did you? they take 7-10 days to clear.

Nope. Paid through Paypal and the money has been taken out of my account. I'm guessing because i did it on Saturday, it's got to take a working day or 2 to clear with the mods/administrator.

Mine always has done as well. Looks like e-mailing the address on my paypal receipt.

One of the methods of sending money via paypal is echeque.

I sent an e-cheque to renew mine too as I didn't realise until I started getting adverts at the top. It seems when you're a moderator, there's no "going blue"

Actually, it seems after some investigation, that I still have access to the freedom area, but I'm still getting the adverts.

I know but whenever i've sent an e-cheque in the past, it tells me and gives me an expected clearance date but this says completed and it was a straight transfer from my account.

Paypal's Automated IPN service has been on the blink in the last few days.

I've forwarded your email to johnd, he'll resolve via the back end systems, any problems drop him a note, you should go green if all is well shortly.

Hang on in there John (vRS19TD). I'd reckon that if JohnD knows of your plight, he'll be able to find your payment OK

Perhaps in the meantime use a green font? Strangely comforting

IIRC "Just write nnnnn and we'll know what you mean" is an expression that came from a TV prog hosted by Hughie - er - Green. Who'd have thought green was cool even way back then?

It is a great forum. There have been times when i've disappeared for periods of time but i keep coming back.
